Very cool. I wonder 1: How much weight they hold (for "relations"...) and 2" if they're custom built mounts depending on locations of joists in the ceiling. |

1- everyone would need those bars that they put on toddler beds so they dont fall out 2- pretty cool 3-so many things could go wrong with that its hilarious. |

I wish I had more pics of some of the stuff in college. Freshman year - I made a wall of Poland Springs bottles and duct tape to keep my blankets from falling on my desk below. I also housed my desk completely under my bed facing out, making a dark cave. Sophomore Year - After my roommate forgot his computer after thanksgiving break, I took the cardboard it was shipped up in and made a cardboard house out of my bed that I kept the entire year. Right now, my room at home is set up kind of like a snail shell in that you have to spiral around in order to get to my bed, computer, etc. |

At RIT you could put a desk underneath, but most other places the beds were about waist high. |

Another nice option is to have dressers built in to the bed frame, also freeing up room space...

CV...I would hate to be your friend on moving day. LOLOL My only note on loft beds is they are a bitch to change the sheets and check on your kids when they're sick or sit on the side of the bed and read them a story. All things I didn't really think about when I got my kids theirs. |

Ooh, those are important concerns with the kids, Kris. Some of my favorite memories of my father when I was little are the times when I was 4-8/9 and he would get in bed with me when it was time for me to go to bed and we'd sit up and read books together; he'd read one page and I'd read the next, a chapter a night before I went to bed till the book was finished and then on to the next. I love him for that; I always looked forward to that time so much every day. When I have children, I won't get them loft beds now. |

Well, we made a patch for that problem by putting all of his stuffed animals under the bed and have a reading light clamped underneath and we read THE SAME WAY, one chapter at a time until the book is done, but under the bed. We read about half the Magic Treehouse series this way. I look forward to this all day, too. A nice way to end the day. |
