This Haunted Reformatory has been featured on Travel Channel "101 Things to Do Before You Die" & on Fox "Scariest Stories on Earth" "Scariest Places on Earth"

Ghostly History of Ohio State Reformatory
As reported by News Channel 4, Columbus, Ohio 1997

Stone walls and iron bars they're still here, but what of the humanity, if you can call it that, of the old Ohio State Reformatory at Mansfield. What of the 154,000 inmates who passed through it's gates in it's 94 years as a working prison. Not to mention their keepers, the Wardens, and the Guards, the gravediggers, and the rest, what of them remains? As it turns out, more than you might think.

I've signed up for next summer June 25. Mr. Schony says I'll be in the car within one hour ;) Ten hours inside this place. You can not leave the grounds.

Anyone here have EVP or thermal imaging equipment I can borrow?

I think it would be an incredible spiritual experience. One of my dreams is to sit on Normandy beach among the spirits that visit there. So go fer it!

Awesome!

...but you gotta remember to feed the ghosts. You stop hoping/believing and they go away forever.

Cynicism is the ultimate "ghostbuster".

That is really neat. Bring a camera and take a ton of pictures, hopefully you'll get something.

First to Schony, go for it gal. Although I have never had the experience myself, I believe there is something after death. "In this world there is real evil, when doors are opened, dreams become nightmares and nightmares become reality". No equipment for ya though, sorry Schony.

To ItsMe, I sat on the beaches of Normandy with my grandfather in 1994 during the 50th anniversary. He was 101st airborne, the tears in his eyes I will never forget. I would recommend not only to you, but to any person living in the free world to spend a week or 2 coveting the many different grounds that were battlefields of the Great Crusade. It is not only awe inspiring, inside yourself, your deep inner self, you will feel an overwhelming feeling of pride, the sense of duty, honor, integrity and grit that made the greatest generation sacrifice all for us, the future of their labors. I drew tears on more than several occasions as veterans who survived both the beaches and the inland Bocage fighting recounted countless moments of true sacrifice by friends and comrades who gave their lives so others may fight on. To me anyways, they are the epitemy of what it is to be free.

Schony, I've got a proton pack somewhere in my crawl space. But I'm sorry. I can't lend it to you. A proton pack is not a toy.

A guy I worked with in the 90's was a D-Day Vet, Normandy beach. He went there for the 50th and came back a different man. He came back at peace and serene.

Over 425,000 Allied and German troops were killed, wounded or went missing during the Battle of Normandy. This figure includes over 209,000 Allied casualties, with nearly 37,000 dead amongst the ground forces and a further 16,714 deaths amongst the Allied air forces. Of the Allied casualties, 83,045 were from 21st Army Group (British, Canadian and Polish ground forces), 125,847 from the US ground forces. The losses of the German forces during the Battle of Normandy can only be estimated. Roughly 200,000 German troops were killed or wounded. The Allies also captured 200,000 prisoners of war (not included in the 425,000 total, above). During the fighting around the Falaise Pocket (August 1944) alone, the Germans suffered losses of around 90,000, including prisoners. (www.ddaymuseum.co.uk)

Sorry Kath, hijack not intended. :shhh: :shifty:

They say the train station in Buffalo (the old abandoned one) is haunted. Ghost Hunters was there and they got some cool things. If you go to their website, you might find some cool gadgets. There is also a funeral home or museum that is haunted in Buffalo that GH went to...its completely surrounded by train tracks and is called the Iron something-or-other. It looks like a converted church.

Have you ever had a run-in with a ghost? I have...no matter how ready you think you may be, nothing can prepare you for it. I think if someone took a picture of me, my hair would be standing on end like touching one of those static balls at science museums. Funny.

Have fun! Take your digital camera, at the very least. Take lots of pictures!!
