As someone that has read the entire series, I can attest to the fact that the reading goes from, 'wow...this is really cheesy...my kind of book," to "I have to see where this goes," to "is Stephanie Meyers doing acid hits before she sits at the 'puter?" The funny thing is that it is a beautifully written story, making you wish you could be there....but then you sit back and look at it and say, "WHAT?" The last book is a cool book to read because everything is 'solved', but its also awful because there is, literally, hardly any conflict. You KNOW everything will work out alright in the end...which lends to a boring read, really. In the beginning is the skipped sex scene (since its for tweens, they tactfully skipped the details...but as a cheesy romance reader/writer, I felt horribly unfulfilled, but was amused by Bella, all bruised and battered by Edwards violent sex and is like, "I want more...") and then the whole thing is a train wreck that is so unbelievable that you can't put it down...as the baby rips its way out of her mother via her abdomen, you are saying, "now how is THIS going to end...is Edward finally going to make her into a vampire?"

As a serious piece of literature, i suppose its not the greatest, but I have to admit, I couldn't put any of the books down until i finished. Take it for what its worth. They guy in the link had a great rendition of the book. REALLY funny!!

I have had zero interest in these novels, until I read the following statement:

"Let's go over that again: Edward fucks Bella into unconsciousness."

I'm now intrigued.

No knocking these books! I read them all and enjoyed each one.

The next couple movies may have to be rated a little differently. Either that or they'll have to skimp on some of the love scenes.

the whole series makes me wonder if he loves her why not just let her turn into a vampire so they can live forever together. i mean after the first book they have the shot.

A week ago I refused to see any Twilight movie, ever; however, this seems like a worthy exception.

i have never actually had an issues with Twilight, the books. i have never read them but from hearing about it from my girlfriend and using wikipedia to fill in the missing parts i still dont have any desire to read them. the thing that pisses me off is the bastardization of vampires. the sparkling (or shining, whatever you want to call it), to the fact that they can even walk in sunlight, have no coffins (or need to sleep), and can only be killed by being torn apart and burned just makes the vampires into, more or less, unstoppable beings.

what did it for me was that she said that she didnt do any research about anything before writing the stories. really? you couldnt even pick up the DVD of Blade? Queen of the Damned? Dracula: Dead Loving It?

anyway. the knocking bella out with rough sex is interesting but i still have no desire to see/read it.

They NEED to make that into a movie.

I started reading the first book once, so that I would have more ammo for mocking it. Couldn't finish it. The writing AHHHH. I think she sat there with a thesaurus.
