| Post subject: | Regarding Avatars and Signatures |
The moderators would like to make a quick statement about avatars and signatures. We would like to ask that people refrain from using gratuitous T&A pictures and the like as their avatars, or in their signatures. Why are we asking this? As our site is growing, the community is getting more active. More and more members check in from work, at school, etc. For some, pulling up a forum page littered with bouncing boobs and thongs isn't a big deal. (Personally, I could probably watch a porn at work without a problem, but I'm an exception. :p ) However, for others, scrolling down to have one of these images pop up can be embarrassing, or bad for their employment situation. If you want to have that kind of stuff in a thread, such as ETC's Thong/Denise Milani/Yummy Boobies/Hot Bitches thread. I'd even suggest the ever popular [NSFW] tag in the subject. We're not trying to be prudish, and yes, I know that the interwebs were made for porn, but let's just try and be considerate of our fellow members. KTHXBYE |

LMAO that's funny. But also understandable. Let us help our fellow forum members be less productive at work and at school without being caught! |

They gonna have to come off the sigs too then I'd assume. I TOTALLY understand, as my g/f gets heated when she sees some of them. Luckily, she is understanding enough, but some may not be. Anyways, if ya want porn, you know where to find it. No need to advertise. |

I'll lose mine too. I look at it as artwork since it took me 12 hours to carve it, but I agree. I put it up in the spirit of the Holidays as it's actually a take off from the naughty or nice line from a Christmas song. Say goodbye to Santa's hot elves Now you'll all have to suffer an avi of a nerdy Dr. Reid from Criminal minds

I would also suggest banning swearing and sexual themes from thread titles, avatars and signatures. If we are changing the direction here from an intimate, semi-private, adult-themed message board to more of a work/school/family-friendly format, then these additional steps are probably necessary. |

Is it at all possible for you to NOT be a sarcastic prick? We're not 'changing directions' on the boards. We're just asking people keep that kind of stuff in certain places so someone doesn't click on a thread about a hockey topic and have half a page full of tits and ass that they weren't expecting. Every single one of the mods has gotten a PM at one time or another because this exact thing happened. We asked Irony to take his 'Dick Towel' image out of his sig for this exact reason. Two people pulled up the forums at school between classes, clicked on a hockey subject, and scrolled down to see a drawing of a hairy cock. He did it without an argument, and I think understood why we asked. Stop making a big deal out of every little thing like this. While we're not bound by code of conduct BS like were were in the old place, XC still doesn't want this place to be a damn free for all. |

I'm not playing a game. I suggested that the thread titles, signatures, and avatars be censored for language in addition to pictures. The reason for this is what you stated about making it more friendly for members to log on at school, work, etc without risking embarrassment or worse. |

Language isn't large and in color that can be easily seen by someone standing behind you or walking by. |

I log on from work a lot, so I understand, and its nice to not worry about being surprised by racy pics in threads. But that stuff pisses me off. We're all adults with full motor control of our eyelids, if someone doesn't want to see something they can look away. |

Well here's my opinion. It's a hockey board so suggestive pictures aren't needed. |
