can anyone rip the audio from a youtube video and send it to my phone so it can be a ringtone?

If you have a microphone for your computer, pull up sound recorder and make sure there isn't any noise and record it that way.

then find a website which can send the audio to your phone.

If you have Firefox, you can rip the video's audio layer using Download Helper, and then upload the song to Phonezoo.com to select what segment you want for a ringtone.

It's a really easy process - grab the Youtube video (Download Helper or the like is easiest way - hard way is to grab it from the temporary files folder). Then run it through VLC or the like to a .wav or whatever your phone takes, and bingo. Use Audacity if you want to trim it down or whatnot.

Audacity can also record anything your speakers are outputting. So can a lot of other programs (Windows Movie Maker will as well).

On a side note, I always wanted a clip from The Talking Heads "Psycho Killer" for my ring tone, but haven't figured out how to get it yet!!

nope, no elk. but i have stared down a bear. i had three finals today...but I'm done! weird feeling. now to find an assistanceship in ecology! i'm not just ANY outdoor geek...i'm a SCIENCEY outdoor geek!

i heard we have some real tech wizzes here. so here goes

my hp dv2000 laptop died this summer. motherboard.

questions:

1. will my compaq m2000 motherboard fit and work into the dv2000? hp and compaq are the same thing, same model number, kinda, i assume they are the same.

2. i read i can disconnect a wire from the motherboard, disconnecting the BIO date and time and it will work again, is this true?
