A friend of my girlfriend works at the arena, and hooked me up with a pass to an employee friends and family skate tomorrow night. I know it sounds fruity, but I am so stoked to skate on the same ice as so many stellar hockey players have. Should be a great time, I'll take pics. |

Take out anyone who sucks right now. Put your foot in the crease and take a picture for the "No Goal" Picture. then Stand in the Crease like a Goalie and Be like I'm Miller or Hasek. Then have someone lay on their back at the blueline and stand over them and be like I'M SOUPY AND I HIT YOU UMBERGER. Just some fun pictures I guess, except for No Goal picture of course. |

That's awesome...skate around center ice and bask in its glory. And then show off some of your breakdance skills in the goal crease to see how well you can pull off a Hasek impression.

Ok, here's the Flickr set. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27329543@N ... 054232378/ Some of my favs: Visitor's locker room. That's where we were allowed to get our skates on.  Lineup sheet on the wall from the Pens game. Interestingly enough, it showed Miller over Lalime.  Door to the Sabres locker room. Locked of course.  Looking out of the Sabres locker room down the hall to the ice. It's not all that far from the visitor's hall really.  Plaque dedicated to the Knox brothers. It's in the hallway to the ice, not far from the bench. You can see it in the hallway pic on the right.  Closeup of center ice. Kinda wanted to get the whole logo in, but was hard with the number of people that were skating.  Directly underneath the scoreboard. Not an interesting shot, just cool to have stood there.   Me looking disgruntled sitting in the penalty box. (Yes, I know I need to shave. Get off it.)  Lots of folks there. This was about 20 minutes in, and it got much busier.  Just had a thought of RJ being up there going ape shit.  Those are my gloves in my hoodie. I'm really not that fat.  It was a really fun time. Ice was open for almost 2.5 hours, which was very cool. Got pretty crowded at times, and they didn't resurface until we were done, so the ice got REALLY shitty after a while. Nice spread of food, although I didn't eat much. Wanted to get as much time on the ice as possible. |

Yea, Tom, you got to do something pretty incomparably cool. Only way it would be cooler is if you got to see the dressing room. The view of the bottom of the Jumbotron is one of my favorites, just because I've never seen the bottom of it and never thought I would hah. |
