Can someone please enlighten me as to how one can go into OT with a 5 on 3 advantage when you start at 4 on 4?

You m,ean besides the fact that it's Buffalo?

Well, the rules are if you enter OT s men down you start 5-3 and then eventually work back to a 4-4.

yep. if regulation ends with a 2 man advantage, overtime begins with said 2 man advantage, working back to a 4-4.

Hmmmm. What if, and just WHAT IF, you went into OT (5 on 3) with twenty seconds on one penalty and thirty seconds on the other (example) and both are killed off. What happens then? It can't become 5-4. What happens?
Does the last 10 seconds of the second penalty become null and void when it went 4 on 4?

If that ever happens, the universe folds in on itself...

my guess is, the game is played 5-5 till the next stoppage of play. if a 5-3 is killed off, it is played 5-4 till a stoppage in play, and the game is adjusted to
4-3..

Thanks. I was hoping for the first penalty to be killed off, our 4th man jumping back out and the Caps immediately called for having too many men on the ice  I'll move this over the the lounge now ;)

I don't think they could be that douchey about it, especially if that have that rule in place in OT anyways.
