Anyone know wtf this program is and why it won't let me click to certain sites and sign into certain sites? |

That's not a program...it's windows trying to protect itself from something potentially nasty the user (you) is trying to do. I believe you can disable it in advanced system properties somewhere if you so choose. EDIT: more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_Execution_Prevention Windows is preventing the execution of code from a non-executable memory area. |

Go to Start>Run, and type c:\boot.ini You'll see a place that says /NoExecute=OptIn Change that to /fastdetect |

I found an article on the Sabres and when I went to click on it to read it the Data Execution Prevention window popped out and redirected me off the site.

What browser are you using? because if you're certain the error is caused by browsing to a page, it's either the browser of a plugin your browser is attempting to initiate that's throwing that error. //of course it could also be any combination of malware / virus too. |

BTW, I don't know what version of windows you're running, but in XP you can disable DEP like this: right click on "my computer" --> properties --> Advanced --> Performance: click the "settings" button. It's the tab on the far right. |

It's the tab on the far right. Got it and thanks crosscheck. After all this, I get on that Bleachers site and the article is written by local fans.  Go Figure. Maybe I'll write an article on how that site was not friendly to me
