I have to rant on this for a second. Listening to audio of Mike DeGeorge, BPD Spokesman. He gives a brief rundown of the situation, says that an officer was injured and taken to ECMC with non-life threatening injuries, and that the BPD is "not officially confirming that the officer has been shot. Hopefully we'll have an update in a little bit." Seems pretty straightforward, right? Here come the reporters. Question 1 : " Was he shot, and the the suspect come outside, or what?" 5 FUCKING SECONDS after DeGeorge says they're not confirming anyone was shot, this bitch asks if he was shot. Really? Did you NOT pay attention to anything that was just said? Question 2,same reporter : "Is the officer going to be ok?" Well, they just said repeatedly that it was non-life threatening injuries, and he was in ECMC in stable condition. Do you ask because DeGeorge didn't say 'OK'? Thankfully some legitimate questions followed, but this just set me off. What are they teaching people in journalism school these days? Ask inane questions that have already been answered in the previous statement? Be stupid? Just annoys the fuck out of me. EDIT: Also annoyed by the fuckface reporter with their Verizon ringtone jamming out while DeGeorge is trying to answer questions. |
