IT'S WAR!

Get your DVR ready...a new show, "Food Wars", debuts on the Travel Channel on March 9th, and one of the featured episodes will be a "wing war" between Duff's and Anchor Bar, with the winner being crowned champion of chicken wings in Buffalo.

Rob Ray is one of the judges!

Not sure yet if this will be on the debut episode on March 9th, so if it changes I'll adjust the GDT. My personal choice is absolutely Duff's for their super crispy, red hot wings, though I also am fan of Anchor's more buttery flavored wings, too. Hopefully they'll take blue cheese into account as well, because a wing without great blue cheese is simply unacceptable.

It's such a tough call. I could eat pounds of either restaurant's wings and be totally happy.

Duffs makes my heart sing. <3

I've had anchor bar, but I have yet to experience Duff's.

My next trip out, for sure, will include a stop at Duff's.

The only downside of Duffs is if you prefer a more crispy wing. Duff's wings are usually swimming in a pool of saucy lovin, so it tends to soften up the outer skin.

Anchor Bar's wings are coated well obviously, but much crispier since they're not doing cannonballs in a Frank's bath. :p

Funny, but I've found the opposite to be true. Even though the Duff's wings are heavily sauced, they are more well done and crispier than the Anchor's. At least, that's how it was about 8 years ago when I last was at the Anchor Bar.

My vote goes to Duffs although I'm not quite sure I agree with the premise. Both are different, both are good.
Buffalo restaurants, as a whole, don't fuck up wings.
The war should be between wings made inside the 716 vs. "wings" made outside

My experiences at Duffs have always been that if you don't order them extra crispy, they won't be.

Maybe that's changed over the years.

duffs definitely has wings on the crispier side from my recent experience. I dunno, they just always make em perfect for me. Saucy but crispy enough for my taste. perfection. god i want wings right now.

ah if i hadn't just ate lunch i totally would've said let's go! but we should all go out and get wings sometime this week or maybe next week. it needs to happen. i haven't had a good plate of wings in far too long.

I agree with that, we'll set something up this week. I'm wide open until end of this month

mmm... anchor bars look MUCH better. duffs looks like any run-of-the-mill wings they sell at restaurants back at school.
