Quote:
TRACY, Calif. (CBS13) ―

Tracy residents will now have to pay every time they call 9-1-1 for a medical emergency.

But there are a couple of options. Residents can pay a $48 voluntary fee for the year which allows them to call 9-1-1 as many times as necessary.

Or, there's the option of not signing up for the annual fee. Instead, they will be charged $300 if they make a call for help.

"A $300 fee and you don't even want to be thinking about that when somebody is in need of assistance," said Tracy resident Greg Bidlack.

Residents will soon receive the form in the mail where they'll be able to make their selection. No date has been set for when the charges will go into effect.

Such bullshit. There's a 911 fee on every phone line in the country, wireless and landline, that goes to municipalities to pay for 911 service. Charging more for it is absolutely absurd.

Natural Selection at it's finest. If you can't afford 911 then your life isn't worth living.

Tracy is a far east bay suburb of Stockton...the Stockton listed as #2 most miserable city in the other thread.

That area is approaching 20% unemployment and is riddled with violent crime which I'm sure has absolutely nothing to do with their huge population of illegal immigrants.

Just a question here...so say you are very poor....making minimum wage barely getting by, and you are at some suburban bus stop when you see a hit and run....some guy is laying in the street and hurt....do you call 911 and risk getting thrown out on the street b/c you can't pat rent ? or do you let the guy suffer or die ?

Unreal...FILTHY ANIMALS !!!!

Pay to use 911...pay a fee when you get in a car accident.

Gotta love California

I'm sensing a mass exodus from this shithole of a city...
