Owing to difference in opinion (mainly between irony and myself) on the extent of superstition in being a fan, I thought here would be a good place to air out different superstitions, either as a fan, or even as an amateur athlete.

For Sabres games I always have to wear some type of Sabres clothing.

When I was lacrosse goalie I had a habit of tapping my thighs with my stick after every whistle - pretty odd now that I look back on it.

When I play soccer, I bring by bag onto the field with me. It sits next to the right goal post (on the outside of course).

In hockey, my left skate always goes on first when I'm getting dressed.

I drink a powerade... not gatorade... exactly an hour before. I won't eat anything after the 6 hours until game time point.

For some reason, every time I score a goal in what ever sport, a twirl my neck around twice and then shrug my shoulders. In that exact order. Maybe a twitch being associated with scoring a goal. Pretty weird.

I'm building my new one now................SleshLund's meaningless game stat predictions ;)

But, in an effort to keep my life time tradition alive, every Sabres game I get to watch or go to I do a shot of Jack Daniels before the game. The used to with me, but not any more. :(

I dont believe in superstitions so much, but I do have a kinda quirky warm up for every sport I play.

I will sit on the end of the bench, close my eyes, and kinda talk myself up in my head. I dont yell, I dont shout, I dont jump around, for me to get pumped up I just have to channel my "inner rage" as my ex used to call it

Don't have any. Well, not since I decided I don't believe in them anymore.

It's not really a superstition, but I have this weird ritual I do before I go to bed.

I stopped posting in GDTs until the Sabres have a 2 goal lead - if it's less than that and I post, they lose.
