I'd just like to say that, while I'm crushed, devastated, and miserable about the loss today, lets all just go back to being Sabres fans. The tournament is over, and this game meant a lot to all of us. But lets not forget why we participate here. Lets go get that Stanley Cup! LETS GO BUFFALO! |

I'd just like to say that being from Buffalo could we expect anything less than a Crosby heartbreak in OT? Seems fitting... |

eh, its over. i thought the suspect in question may have celebrated a bit too rich, but the punishment against him may been too severe, i mean, his country just won the gold.... in the end, its a highly debated and emotional topic for some, so it happens. cooler heads will prevail in the end, hopefully. |

I didn't want to go back and look at it because I didn't want to get upset. Just saw the last page. Either way, we're all here for the Sabres, so lets settle down and go back to being miserable together. |

Tensions run high when emotional games like this happen. Fuck it...everything and anything that was said I regard to the moment and dismiss it. |

I'd like to apologize is I offended anyone with my little rant. I was a little over the top, and should have kept most of that private. |

I think we can dismiss that GDT as an anomaly because in all seriousness, when/where else would we get two different teams that we actually wanted to win in the same game? |

Definitely a very emotional game for both countries and some definitely wore their hearts on their sleeves. I'm soooo ready to get back to the daily NHL grind. |

Very well put.I voiced this to many in that same GDT and feared that this game may spawn a lot of hate, shit talking/personal attacks. Kind of why I stayed out of it during the game. Regardless of the score, I was gonna come on here and raise a glass to whatever team would win. Both teams played great! On that note, the games are indeed over, the flame is soon to be snuffed and it's time to grab the Sabres garb. The jerseys, hats, Shirts/T-shirts, scarfs and PLAYOFF WAR PAINT!!!!! Look out, NE Division! We're about to paint this mother fucker BLUE & GOLD!!!!!! LETS GO BUFFALO!!!!! |

Wow, just read the GDT. That was ridiculous, seemed like a mix of alcohol and national pride? No freaking way was a ban at all appropriate. And then to bump it to seven days because two separate members come to the persons defense? what the hell is that? |

That's exactly who I'm talking about, Adam. I feel very pleased that, regardless of the means, a GDT I made reached 44 pages. |

Well, apparently things were said after I left, but I can guess as to what they were, and I still just don't understand. As for the ban, the most inflammatory thing he said was that he thought the officiating was fine, after a lot of people had complained about it. I said the same thing, as did Mike, but I was gunning for the US and he was neutral so it was all right, but bring in somebody who's a fan of Canada to say that and suddenly it's inflammatory even though this is not a Team USA message board. I really didn't understand the animosity directed at him in that thread at all, especially considering how much a lot of this board bashed Team Canada in the weeks before the game without any repercussions from the Canadians around here. I said something along the lines of, "WOOOO HAHAHAAHAH TAKE THAT CANADA WHO HAS THE BETTER HOCKEY TEAM NOW," when we beat them the first time around. Oh well. In a week nobody's going to care about the Olympics, anyway; guys who fought the fight against each other will be teammates again. Cheers to all! |
