Los Angeles -- A $26 million dollar award against Buffalo Sabres owner Tom Golisano and his company, Paychex, was upheld on Tuesday by a California state appeals court.

In 2001, Rapid Payroll Inc., an acquisition of Paychex, canceled the license for Computer Payroll Co., a firm located in Palm Desert, CA. The lawsuit put forth by Computer Payroll Co. alleges breach of contract and claims the cancellation came only after Rapid Payroll was acquired by Paychex.

The decision affirmed previous verdicts against Golisano and Rapid Payroll Inc.

Now he'll sell the team to pay off the judgement to some random goodfella with a checkbook, and the Sabres will end up moving to Atlantic City...swell.

$26 million is, like, 1/40th of a billion dollars, and Golisano is a multi-billionaire. Sabres are just fine.

No wonder why my Juan Valdez weekly "I made it here with paperwork" check stopped coming in the mail. :?
And here I was blaming Speaker Pelosi and her districts inability to manage anything, including the mail service out of California
