alex and i discussed last night about the plight of the game day threads, and i notice that overall, the boards have become less active. now, several major posters have disappeared, as have some other regular posters. how to we remedy this before the site becomes a ghost town? i know, many of you are saying "thatll never happen!" but with the boards already noticeably slowing down, its certainly a distant possibility. lets review who left, but not why.

icehound left
schony has gone
howie hodge has
rob has too.
etc has gone awol. again.
motalo gave up the boards for lent.
eileen has gone too.

so, either we need new blood, or some of these people to return. whats some ideas for you people?

Hmm, eileen is gone, where did she go?

I know Schony and Rob had vowed not to return, which is IMO, a tragedy.

Jael has been in and out every now and then, and I've seen her on facebook.

People get busy with college I guess. I never was, but I'm a slacker, haha.

i know eileen became unhappy with some drama earlier. she kind of distanced herself from the forums after that. her and i talked ALOT and now shes simply GONE!

That stinks. I haven't seen anything occurring here that would give myself any reason to say f this s and leave.

I've got a lot of thoughts on this, but I don't have the time to put everything into words right this moment. I'll say two quick things now.

- Rob (rbochan) sent a PM to XC and requested that his account be deleted. That request was accommodated.

- The people who are here are those who want to be here.

and i agree. but i enjoy communicating with you jerks, and i dont want the forums to die. id love to see some new blood step up and become more noticeable posters. of course, people have lives, i understand. but i do rather enjoy this place.

I do have some thoughts about this also. I noticed some serious issues on the last GDT where there was only myself and CV....This place have not and WILL NEVER be the same without the above mentioned individuals and others that have not been mentioned. I will defer to Squanto (or XC) on any statements about the recent situation.

Aw hell, I'll post the comment I've been withholding, reiterating, that I love and miss everyone who is gone.

However:

I think the "take your ball and go home" way of doing things is a bit immature. Especially for some of our more distinguished posters. But it is there choice, and I respect that.

I might be missing his posts, but Xcheck himself doesn't seem to be on very much these days.

XC was never, at least to me, a massive poster to begin with (outside of the Politics thread).

the decreased involvement of some members here is a shame. particularly the ones that brought something to the table. I think a lot of it has to do with the change in weather. for months its been to cold to really go out so everyone was here to socialize and be entertained. with the weather warming people are going out more, and actually spending time away from the computer.

i believe that this trend will change once people get use to it being nice out and schools done, and things like that.

i agree with CV about the taking of balls.
