I've been waiting for this show for about 4 months now. It's like Planet Earth, but instead of focusing on the environment and the animals that live in it, they focus more on the struggle to survive the animals have to go through. It premiers at 8 tonight on Discovery. http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/life/ |

First two episodes were awesome. Can't wait for the last 9. |

Not only is the actual nature of it amazing, but also the things these cameramen have to go through to get such rare shots. After seeing these first two episodes, I can truly say evolution holds no bounds. It is simply amazing what pure survival looks like and the different species it has brought about. |

Incredible, incredible footage. I only watched the first one so far, but that hunt of the baby ibex was the most suspenseful thing I've seen in a long time. |

I'm sorry, but Oprah ruins it for me...so far anyway. She sounds like she's speaking down to an audience of children. I can think of probably 10 people that could do a better job than her. |

I thought perhaps they could have used Mike Rowe, but I decided that this series needed a fresh voice for narration, and I agreed with their move to use someone who hasn't really done it before. Just my .

I should watch this, but I knew going it was hosted by Oprah and it's made me leery. Mike Rowe would have been an AWESOME choice, Adam. |

I thought it was great, I caught some of one last night. I didn't even know it was Oprah narrating, I thought she did a good job. |

For narration like this I'm more of a Morgan Freeman / James Earl Jones type of guy I can't take Oprah seriously. |

I thought the part about the Komodo Dragon was intense. I have to do a presentation in my Herpetology class and that scene convinced me to do it on the Komodo. |

All better choices. I was excited about this until I remembered the commercials with Oprah in them. I'll catch it over the summer, anyway, more likely than not. I'm a sucker for the imagery in HD. |

I don't pick up on her being condescending at all. This is so WEIRD to me. I'm watching it right now (I'm DVRing all of the episodes) and she's rhythmic, balanced, and melodic. I'm quite honestly shocked at how poor her reception has been. EDIT: Perhaps it's because I don't watch her television show, and haven't seen it since I was in elementary school when my mom watched it. |

She probably wasn't condescending on that show... just in some interviews, it's like, "OH MY." She's a jerk. Her show has ruined her for me in general. |
