Car folks, I call upon you to assist me in saving money.

What are the best places to buy wheels and tires for your vehicle?

My CC is going through a number of upgrades, and this is the one I'm working on next.

Hard to go wrong with Tirerack for tires.
Just because of their sheer volume you can get good prices and most tires are in stock.

Wheels are another story...it would totally depend on what you're looking for.

In terms of what? Size and color?

I'm not hot on any specific brand. Matte aluminum looks good on my car, and I want 19".

Yeah...size and style...some companies specialize in certain styles or ultra-lightweight etc.

If you're not that picky you'll probably also find some of the best prices at tirerack for wheels too.

You can order online and they'll drop-ship them to a local installer if you want.

Biggest issue is size and offset and width.

Make sure you look into offset especially, you don't want your wheel sticking out of your car a few inches or tucked under the fender more than it is.

Biggest thing is if you want the stock looking fitment, figure out the offset of your stock wheels, it should say on the wheel somewhere and go with something like that. If you want a bit wider wheel you're going to need to make sure the offset compensates for the wider wheel. Also make sure you get the right lug nut pattern.

Google wheel sizes and the offsets. I know I said offset alot, so make sure you get the proper fitment you need to have a good offset on the wheel.

I really like the 19x8's that this guy has on his CC:

Eventually, I'd like my CC to look like this one.

This has lowering springs (1" in the front, .8" in the back) and 19" wheels.

Those look almost exactly like wheels from a new Audi A8.

i'm not sure where you get them...but i heard the latest "rave" out there for rims are rims with a subwoofer in the middle of them.....so you would be rolling with 4 subwoofers on the outside of your car....i dunno, it sounds like to me this would piss a lot of people off

Tirerack is great for tires.

Wheels may be a bit tougher because there is such a large selection online. My favorite personally has always been BBS, although they can be very expensive. Try checking out this forum: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zeroforum?id=1062. Try asking around there, or just searching through the threads. The people there will gladly help you out. I already found one thread with a wheel vendor for the CC here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4799676. You're going to find that forged wheels are more expensive than the cast wheels.

Good luck! Let us know what you get and what it looks like with them on!
