I don't know why, but when I read this story it really got under my skin.

I have looked at some of the pictures of the event out there on the intertubes and your assumption is correct.

It looked like a pack (gaggle, pride, murder?) of militant (read man-hating) lesbians.
Most had very short hair on their heads and very long hair under their arms.

I did witness a topless protest once in Santa Cruz...a bunch of girls from UCSC were protesting the Gap selling clothes made in sweatshops or some such crap.
Of course, being Santa Cruz, not many people got too worked up about it, and being Santa Cruz, the chicks were actually damn hot.
