Verizon CEO Reveals He Has Asked Apple for iPhone Rights In a brief article, the Associated Press reports that Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg yesterday revealed that his company has explicitly told Apple that it would like to carry the iPhone on its network. Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg says the company has told Apple that it wants to carry the iPhone. But he declined to say when -- or even if -- the popular smart phone will be available for Verizon Wireless customers. The topic of the iPhone on Verizon in the U.S. has been popular ever since the device's exclusive release on AT&T's network, and the company has repeatedly mentioned its interest in bringing the popular device to its network. Seidenberg noted last October that the decision was "exclusively in Apple's court", but today's report seems to the first time he has publicly admitted that Verizon has directly asked Apple for the rights to the iPhone. The company has claimed that it is prepared to handle the network traffic should it be permitted to offer the iPhone. Steve Jobs is a control freak. The only way the iPhone goes to Verizon is if he wants it there. The Verizon CEO asking for it means squat. |

The iPhone is coming to verizon. Period. The only reason he isn't coming out and saying it's coming to Verizon is because Steve Jobs told him not to. Apple doesn't want people holding off their iPhone purchases because they know it's coming out for Verizon. The Wall Street Journal recently ran an article that said a CDMA iPhone was already in production. It'll happen before the end of the year. |

i heard the iPAD has bad wireless. what the hell is the iPAD? just a bridge between the laptop and iPHONE correct? i think the tablet is the future, but this is just a basic prototype, if you will. |

Its a giant iPhone basically. Wireless, Could have complete total internet access but you have to pay extra, has a giant keyboard in the screen, does music, all the functions of the iphone or the ipod touch or whatever, pretty niffty. I wanan get one. |

Was reading about it. Apparently it's intermittent, and it's not on all of them. To me, that's actually not a good thing, because it means the ones that are having problems won't be repairable by software. |

Why hate Apple? They make some great products, they are one of the most environmentally friendly tech companies in the world, they're trail blazers in terms of new products, and they have a unique way of tying their software and hardware together. They get hyped a lot by their users, but a lot of that hype is well deserved. I really don't know any mac owners that don't like their computer. |

apple fanbois annoy me. a girl i dated in college was an apple freak. and she sucked. but all shed talk about is OMG IPOD AND MY IBOOK AND OMG! and that probably soured me on it. and i really dont have clue one on what the fuck the apple OS is doing. |
