It's that time of year again... I think a lot of you know that I love me some scruff on manly men, so I want all the men of Sabres Junkie to put down their razors and let that beautiful scruff grow to show support of the Sabres. Post pictures of your progress and discuss the trials and triumphs of growing your wonderful beard. |

Even though I have two patches that I can't seem to grow, I will be participating wholeheartedly. I need an early decision though: Trimming OK or not OK? |

Trimming is acceptable if you're trying to change your team's fortunes. I read that somewhere. |

Well, by 'trimming', are we just talking about shortening the length of the beard itself, or are we actually talking about reducing the amount of face-real estate that the beard is growing on? I plan to have a beard everywhere it will grow, but to keep it relatively short. |

okay. I can grow a mean goatee, apparently. Or at least that's the only part of my face where hair grows religiously. However; in true spirit of the playoffs, a razor will NOT touch my face until the cup is hoisted or our boys are out. I will shave the morning of our first playoff game; and that will be the last time until the fat lady sings. My girlfriend watched me type this, and is actually sitting further away from me. I suppose it's in anticipation. Yes, I'm actually willing to take the risk of less sexual relations to support the Sabres. If growing a playoff beard meant NO relations? I'm sorry, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do I'm trying to convince her to not shave (something...not sure what yet). LMAO. She just asked me "A playoff vagina?" Yes, baby. A playoff vagina. Done and done. |

OMFG. Her words, not mine: "Oh bother. It's going to be like a caveman down there, with your beard and my vagina. It's going to be so ugly".... I love her. |

I'll grow the beard, but no stache for me. I look like white trash when I have one. I'll start mine officially on Monday after the New Jersey game. |

I'm letting it grow right now, but I'll be shaving it down Sunday night after the Devils game. Rules, anyone? I suggest: 1. 2. Post picture of progress in GDT for each game. 3. Neck beard trimming is allowed. Neck beard is fail. 4. Trimming of anything else not permitted. Edit: Fuck clean shaven...I look like a jackass clean shaven.

I'm not sure why you'd want to trim it shorter because this is essentially a "fullness" contest. Right? mechaphil wrote: I'm letting it grow right now, but I'll be shaving it down Sunday night after the Devils game. Rules, anyone? I suggest: 1. 2. I think it should be razor shaven at some point between the Devils game, and the puck drop of the first playoff game. As to the trimming of length, well, i'm estimating we'll have a long playoff run, My beard grows damn fast and i'll probably have to sculpt it a bit. |

To hell with that...go for thickness. To use myself as an example, you don't want this: ![]() You want this: ![]() ![]() (Note to self: awesome beard + straw fedora = win) |
