I wonder why he threw it at a fanmate. Interesting

He threw it because he thought the guy was interfering with the play. If you didn't know, if you reach over the wall to try and catch a ball, you'll be tossed out of the stadium. He probably thought that the guy interfered and the Red Sox player would have been called out, hence the anger and chucked pizza.

kinda true. but false. you are only removed if you actually enter the field of play. reaching over the wall for a ball wont get you kicked out, because its more of a reaction. your looking up, you dont know EXACTLY where the boundary is.

i really think it was just a knee jerk reaction. he just threw it. and its fuckin hilarious.

Not sure how it is in Detroit, but at Fenway you WILL get tossed out if you reach over the wall for a ball at any point, even if fan interference is not called. There are signs along the wall every 10 feet or so warning you not to reach over or face ejection from the stadium. It happens often there because of the smaller foul territory, mostly along the left field side where that play occurred.

yeah, at COPA, you can do everything but actually go out on the field of play to get a ball. in lakeland you can actually go on the field. because i actually did it at spring training. was pretty sweet.
