Not sure if anyone else has seen this yet... http://www.thepassinglane.ca/2010/04/sa ... e-car.html Quote: The court magistrates in Colchester, meanwhile, called Hutton a “complete twit” when he was presented before the court, noting he already had a previous impaired driving conviction. |

This isn't just any battery operated Barbie car! Quote: Hutton, a former Air Force aeronautical engineer, modified the toy Barbie car with his son for a school project after it was dumped near his house. When police pulled him over, he was cramped within the Barbie car with his knees up to his chin. Hutton was supposedly on his way to a friend’s house to show off his modified Barbie-Mobile when he was arrested. Trying to flee the police cruiser was out of the question: the tiny electric car runs on batteries and has a top speed of about 6 km/h. 6 km/h?! He could have knocked someone over! |

It's not just what you do to yourself, but how you can hurt someone else. He could go in the road, someone swerves, hits a tree, and dies. Etc, etc, etc... |

My friend got a DUI on a bicycle. Laws are dumb. If you aren't behind the wheel of an automobile you shouldn't get in trouble. |

You can still pose a risk to yourself and others while driving a toy car, a bike, etc. while intoxicated. What happens if you drive into the middle of the road? Either A) you're getting hit or B) a driver swerves/breaks to avoid you, which can lead to a much worse accident on a busy road. |

I dunno, seems like that 3 mph toy would be less of a hazard than if you ran into the middle of the road. Drunk people can be a hazard but calling this a DWI is a bit over the top. |
