Has anyone here seen this show yet? What a steaming pile of Egyptian camel shit. I was looking forward to it for awhile thinking that it was going to be a legit history program but it's just an over the top, scripted reality show with a bit of ancient stuff thrown in. Not to mention that even if it was on a different channel it still sucks something fierce. I'm getting sick of all of this garbage on the History Channel. I mean what does some scripted reality show, UFO Hunters, Ice Road Truckers, Monster Quest or the other crap on there have to do with history? I know everything has to do with history in some way but when will these ass clowns stop peddling pseudo science, reality tv and what not as applicable historical programing?

Someone on my Twitter feed called the guy "a total assholeface" - not sure if I wanna see it at all now, and I was iffy beforehand.

Dude it's worth watching like five minutes just so you know how bad it is. I made it through twenty minutes and that was just out of gross curiosity.

I love the history channel but im wondering wtf happened to it. Its become like mtv. There is little to no history programming on it anymore. You also forgot that fuckin stupid loggin show which clearly has tons to do with history.....

It's got to the point where I actually look forward to seeing Pawn Stars because believe it or not, its very informative, you learn a ton about obscure shit and people bring some pretty amazing articfacts in there (ancient indian - dot indian - shipwreck coins, a revolutionary war bond from the state of mass. that was engraved by Paul Revere, all sorts of war memorbilia both modern era and ancient) Show is actually pretty damn cool

Also, the only redeeming quality of that Chasing Mummies show is Hawas saying mummies.....it comes out mum-iss. You know, for a supposed archaeologist and scientist, I find his demanding everyone to believe everything he says as fact quite curious.

The only history is them showing ancient people... Then, because they had a calender that had a limit (of course it needs to be never ending, right?) we are all going to die. That channel is devoted to showing how we will die from an asteroid. I hope they're right, I don't want to watch shit like Ice Road Truckers.

I've seen Hawas on other shows and read some stuff he's written and i was honestly shocked to see him being such a D-bag. I mean he's egotistical but damn. The whole "finding a tomb and letting everyone in" made me laugh. At no time do you make a new find then let untrained people in. You take pictures of every detail, make a plan to dig then have experts in there every second of the process to make sure actual science and research gets accomplished. This show is a fucking sad joke.

That means only one thing, they did all the important sciency stuff days/weeks/years in advance and are just rehashing old shit.
