Hey guys, I love the forum (Well, the members). But there are some things that are kind of driving me insane. First and foremost however, is the formatting of our profile on posts. Mainly, there seems to be none.

Whenever we post, our profile size is being dictated by the avatar size... and it's leading to some really strange looking threads. I placed a green line at the start of PSPs post, and it intersects hnfjw's post. This just makes the forum look extremely messy.

Could you place a restriction on standard avatar size, or just set the default for the profile area so we can have a little more organization? I don't know whats possible with phpBB, but on the forum I run using Invision Power Board, you have control over these things.

Also we can use this thread if anyone else has suggestions regarding the format or style of this forum, let your voices be heard!

I'd be willing to help with any graphic design on the forum, just let me know whats needed and I can atleast try.

=)

And another thing, does phpBB allow you to space threads further apart? The lounge is a bit difficult to read because there is thread on top of thread on top of thread. It's tricky picking out new posts/threads.

A great place can always be better. It's not like this is something that I'm saying I'm leaving if it's not fixed, just offering suggestions.

I believe crosscheck said that you can't set the column size. Some themes seem to automatically fix it, this one does not.

Avatar size restrictions are a universal feature of phpBB3.

I had restricted the avatar size and people bitched.

Fight it out amongst yourselves and let me know who wins ;)

The av size is fixed. The slightly misaligned posts haven't bothered me in the slightest and no one else has commented that I know of. You seem to be alone or amongst only a vastly minor minority in this. We're just happy to have this amazing forum and not regulated to the Government....I mean NHL mandated forum program.

The only things that annoy me is the lack of image auto-resizing and the limit on quote pyramids.

Oh yeah?
See all the red icons for forums and posts on the left hand side?
Can you turn those Sabres yellow/gold?

What should be the limit on nested quotes?
That's a setting I can change.
I think I already bumped the default of 3 up to 5.

Maybe 5 or eight. I thought it was still restricting me to three.

Surely, do you want them to stay the same size/shape? Get back to me and I can at least make an attempt.

Well, I had a few minutes so I went ahead and just made a button using the template of what you already have. I used the yellow from the original logo... but it looks a lot more yellow than that. So let me know if it needs to be changed or if you're just looking for something different overall.

Edit: Whoops. Image problem, will re-upload in a second.

And fixed:

Yeah, same thing, just a color change.

I know I set it to 5 at least in 1 place...maybe each forum has its own setting. I'll check it out.

Nope, I was wrong. It was still set to 3.
I've upped it to 6.

Yes, but here's the kicker...there are different versions of each. Like a sticky version a locked version etc.

You can download them all here

That's not too unusual. Annoying, but not unusual. :p

I'm assuming that you want the no new posts icon to remain gray?

I tried just changing the color, but the results were less than smiley faced.... so I recreated all the "unread" buttons. Some of them turned out better than others. Feel free to use or not use any of them. Now, I'm off to watch the Bills game. Lets Go Buffalo!
