Looks like it's going to hit the East coast tonight. I heard that it's going to try and make amends with all the people that it's hurt in the past. |

Fortunately (unless things have changed recently) the east coast will only get a glancing blow from Earl. We're even on the "best" side of the hurricane |

It's suppose to just rain a bit here, maybe not, but our East Coast will get hit a bit by it. |

Yea, I heard on the radio the evacuations of the outer banks and beaches were all closed. I guess it did rain a bit already here, nothing major as it's way away from Raleigh area. |

unless you live on the coast, all your going to get is rain and wind. ive been tracking the US lightning map, and there is maybe 1 or 2 strikes an hour from the hurricane, and its always in the outer rain bands. however, when hurricanes make landfall, alot of times, tornados spin off of em. sometimes they are non-tornadic tornados though(yes, there is such a thing as non-tornadic tornados. think waterspouts) |

I know Mike, I heard that the Raleigh area might not of even get any rain and if we do it's going to be very minuscule, and nothing major. It's just cloudy right now, it rained a little earlier and that's it. I know we aren;t going to get hit because of the path it's taking. |

My grandma lives about 45 minutes inland in new Bern, and all they ever get are severe thunderstorms/flooding. Nothing that causes any major damage unless a tree gets knocked on their house. (They've had their fridge buried/impaled before). |
