they are not sure if there is any pollution ---"Asked about concerns regarding oil leaks or pollution, Colclough said "there are reports the rig was not actively producing any product, so we don't know if there's any risk of pollution."--- the platform is still burning. |

UPDATE: cnn says there is a sheen on the surface of the water. UPDATE 2: the platform had 7 active wells, though they have all been shut down. the fire is burning from oil already collected. |

The update said the platform was producing about 58,800 gallons of oil and 900,000 cubic feet of gas per day. The platform can store 4,200 gallons of oil. But this sucker is only in 340 feet of water so anything catastrophic should be easy to handle. |
