Can any of you folks help me out? I've got a Gateway laptop, FX series. I was removing one of my cats from the keyboard when she decided to take the Backspace key with her. I *think* I've got all the parts, and just need to get the key popped back on... I can't seem to get it on! I'm also afraid I'll REALLY break something if I push too hard.

Has anyone got any advice?? *sniff*

Yeah, thats really bad advice. ^

DO NOT "Just press hard".

Google for instructions, it's too much for me to explain. These look good:

Really? What's in a laptop keyboard that you can break? Is it different than a regular keyboard where it's just the circuitboard, the contact and the little gelpad?

My bad.

Applying pressure can break weak solder points, etc, etc...it's just generally not a good idea; the laptop's motherboard is (usually) directly underneath the keyboard.

Haha I haven't had a down arrow key on my laptop for about six months now. The left hinge is also broken, and the screen is held on there by wires. I don't do much of anything with it lol. Gotta last me another year and a half.
