Do we have any disc golfers on here? I've been playing for about 15 years or so and try to get out twice a week if the weather is good and time allows it. Thought I'd start a thread where we could talk about it, ask questions or tell stories. Heading out in the morning (I tend to go throw when the wife and kids go to church on Sundays).

I've only played a few times. I'm a really good putter, but I have zero aim when it comes to long drives. lol

I played once this past week at chestnut ridge and it was fun, a lot of hiking too since my Frisbee flew down every possible creek haha

I used to play tournaments a lot in Washington and thought about going semi-pro but then I got stationed in Germany and there wasn't a damn disc golf course within three hours so I got rusty. Since then I have kind of stayed the same for years. I get in a game or two a week, average game is -2 to +2 but no major changes. I have been thinking about getting some new plastic and really focusing on my approaches and puts to try and polish up my game annd get back into some of these tournaments nearby. Dunno.

I've been playing for a year. My drives are on the side arm and I can drive well, but I have the putting skills of a squirrel.

Is it true disc golfers go into incredible rageguy tantrums when you call it "frisbee golf"? Cuz that's all it is.

And not at all. We actually call it frisbee golf. But frolf is more often used.

Oh OK, word. I prefer to call it frisbee golf cuz frisbee is such a fun word. Frolf is pretty great too. "Let's go frolfing!" Yeah, I can get used to that.

Raleigh takes this stuff pretty seriously, we have...I believe 5 disc golf courses within about 5 miles, theres even this website detailing all the holes (Oh crap, fine, i'll just go get the link)

http://www.raleighdiscgolf.com/?page_id=7

I was wrong, there seems to be 7 courses in and around raleigh.
Check out the small red links "interactive guide" under the pictures, theres pictures and layout of every hole, pretty crazy.

I actually go to Beaver Island (Bought a boss there, a type of disc) and chestnut ridge. Pretty nice.

I am not a fan of anything involving a frisbee, but I have friends who are really into it.

I just bought a Boss when I was on vacation in NY cause I forgot my disks. HATE IT! hahaha! I mean it goes far but I can't turn that puppy over to save my life. I fear it will sit in my Jeep in timeout until I find someone who wants it.

Oh.....just got back from a round. Played with two guys that were hanging around hole one and had a pretty good time helping them out. They have only been playing for a year or so and it was cool to give them some pointers. Got two amazing 100 foot birdies and four average up and in birds. Almost got an ace but one hin ass little branch hip checked my disc at the last second. Shenanigans.

I play, or at least I used to play a lot. Oregon is a big disc golf center. I've played at at least 10 different courses, all within an hour's drive from Portland. I'm not that good though, I usually average well over par, especially at the insanely hard courses everyone seems to be in love with here. I only own about 6 or 7 discs, which may seem like a lot to someone who's never played, but it's a pretty small number to hardcore players.

DF, if you ever come to Portland, I'll take you around to the best spots.
