Post subject:  Second Annual Gold Coast Concours

Last weekend I drove down to Long Island for the Second Annual Gold Coast Concours to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute.

It was cloudy for the most part of the day and did sprinkle, but it turned out to be a great event. I got to meet our motorsports-partners the Jeff Andretti Coaching Group LLC., as well as Innovative Vehicle Solutions and was able to check out their new HAVOC 9 Camaro with the LS9 engine out of the Corvette ZR-1. They fired it up and it sounded like a monster. The turnout was impressive considering the weather. I took some pictures and wrote a quick article on it.

Second Annual Gold Coast Concours Exposed

MotoringExposure and motorsports partner The Jeff Andretti Coaching Group LLC. brought some high-end horsepower with Innovative Vehicle Solutions to the Second Annual Gold Coast Concours hosted by Martino Auto Concepts to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute.

On a cool autumn day, automotive enthusiasts from around the country came together to support the Diabetes Research Institute and their pursuit for a cure to the chronic disease. The threat of rain did not stop the hundreds of supercars, exotics, and high-performance automobiles from proudly going on display. Thanks to Martino Auto Concepts, the beautiful Glen Cove city square was closed for the special charity event, giving the many participants and sponsors an ideal stage to showcase their rare and exotic automobiles and high-end products. The second annual concours event featured an extensive selection of automobiles from American muscle to screaming Ferraris and Lamborghinis of past and present, vintage racecars, powerful Porsches, elegant Bentleys and Rolls Royces, and performance-tuned sportscars.

In a show that featured classic and modern Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Maseratis, and vintage racecars, the Jeff Andretti Coaching Group LLC. and Innovative Vehicle Solutions teams were at the center of attention. Jeff Andretti and Kai Goddard of the Jeff Andretti Racing Group LLC. spent the day signing autographs and greeting eager fans. To benefit the Diabetes Research Institute, Jeff Andretti donated one of his historic racing suits that was raffled off. Innovative Vehicle Solutions showcased their HAVOC 9 650-horsepower Camaro sporting a new aerodynamic package, stunning wheels, and a monster LS9 engine with a monstrous roar.

The event hosted by Martino Auto Concepts successfully raised money and awareness for the Diabetes Research Institute. The donations and money raised will go towards a cure for diabetes, the care for those afflicted with the chronic disease, and public education. While the number of participants, sponsors, and spectators in attendance was impressive, it did not surpass the show of support and generosity for the Diabetes Research Institute.

Special thanks to Martino Auto Concepts for organizing the event and the City of Glen Cove, New York for providing an outstanding setting for the Gold Coast Concours. Those interested in donating time or money to the Diabetes Research Institute can visit http://www.diabetesresearch.org/ for more information. The size of the RR compared to both Ferraris was comical.

beautiful.
Was that one of the Ferrari 458 Italias that have been bursting into flames lately?
I love the design of that car.

I also drove next to one of those Lamborghini SuperVeloces just this Monday on PCH. Awesome sounding car driven by a complete douchbag who stalled the thing at a light

It was a great show, they shut down the business district for the event. The 458's just got recalled for the fire problems. It is a beautiful design that is distinctively Italian and very dynamic.

There were no douchebags driving any of the Diablo SVs, but there was one driving an orange Murcielago for a company that I won't name (it's not pictured). He almost stalled quite a few times and was really getting on that clutch. He got out and thought he was the coolest person there.

I got to meet our motorsport-partner the Jeff Andretti Coaching Group and Innovative Vehicle Solutions. They were all really great people, I had a great time with them. (I'm in the blue polo).

Nice!
I've been following all the 458's burning on wreckedexotics.com...sad really.
What's under the bonnet of that Camero?

The LS9 from the Corvette ZR-1. It's pumping out 650-horsepower. It's Innovative Vehicle Solutions' HAVOC 9 package. They fired it up and revved it. It sounded like one badass American V-8. I'm in the process of doing an article on the HAVOC tuning programs from IVS for the Camaro. I can post it or pm you the link when I'm done.

*drool*
I just got my first ride in a Challenger SRT8 yesterday...I have a new found appreciation for American muscle.

If I had to pick one of the new "retro" muscle cars of today I'd go with the Challenger. It's not the best in terms of performance or price, but it has in my opinion the best design. I know Chrysler will be debuting a mild refresh soon for the Challenger with better interior materials (right now they are cheap) and a 480-hp SRT8 engine.

I just read the OP and realize what a douche I am for even asking this question since you mentioned it multiple times :D

Sorry, I skipped all those dang words and went straight to the automotive porn ;)

My next car will be an SRT8 *something*. Probably a Charger again (the smiles per mile in that care are ridiculous).

Damn the Camaro is a sexy car (just sayin). I'm in love with the big body of the Charger now.
