IHOP is trademarked isn't it? Be creative with your acronyms, and don't change one word to make it fit. |

Unless the company / product / service can be seen in conflict or competition with the trademark or wordmark holder they'll let it slide. (I used to work for a company called Xdrive...when BMW released their new 4WD system called "Xdrive" the copyright office found no infringement since the 2 products were related in no way)

CriminallyVu1gar wrote: What was the deal with the World Wrestling Federation and World Wildlife Fund then? They decided to engage in a legal battle for exclusive rights...that's beyond the jurisdiction of copyright law. Basically, the law said "it's cool, you can both be "WWF"". And they said "fuck that, let's fight over it" |

Yeah. The WWFs had agreed on a deal at some point that the wrestlers wouldn't use 'WWF' overseas in certain capacities Once they did that, the enviromentalists sued the shit out of them. According to Wikipedia, they had shared the usage of the WWF mark since 1979. |

Over the bridge on Clifton Hill there is a bar called IHOB...The International House of Beer. I vote for them even though they aren't in this fight. |

I remember seeing one of those International House of Prayers when I was in 10th grade when me and my family went to Tennessee and making a joke about it being an IHOP lol. I didn't think they would actually get into a legal battle over it. |
