I go to the Parade of Homes every year in Syracuse. Basically they show 8-12 $250k to $500k houses in a new development near Syracuse.

I'm a big fan of rooms that aren't rectangles

Image
Loved this little foyer on the second floor.

Image
Like the color scheme.

This painting was awesome, and it reminded me of Inception.

Image
I love window seats.

Image
And I thought the patio was nice.

I like the study desk in the little window alcove.

Image

Image
Pretty sweet media room upstairs.

Image
Pretty countertop.

Image

Image
Normally I dislike over the top decorations, but I loved this little nook off the dining room.

Image
Study off the master bedroom.

Image
And the retarded design winner. A door off the master bedroom that not only looks out onto the back porch, but also into the living room window.

This was one of the better offices I thought. I hate people coming up behind me while I'm working, and this one featured a sliding door (where I'm standing) that didn't have window in it.

Image
Yay for wasting space!

Another cute little upstairs foyer, obviously for a pair of little girls.

Image
Even though the room setup was kind of wonky, I liked the living room.

Sweet media room in the basement. I love media rooms.

Image
Not a bad looking living room/kitchen.

Image
Better look at the living room.

Image

Image
Nice screened in porch.

Image
By far my favorite master bedroom.

Image
Possibly the most impractical piece of furniture ever...and I want one.

Image

Image
Just a well designed master bathroom. Note the subtle branding on the mirror.

Finished basement that was way the hell too fancy and should be a media room.

Image
Closet/changing room off of the master bath off of the master bedroom. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Sweet BDSM dungeon!

Image
Reading Room, loved the chairs and curtains.

Image
Desk in a tiny little pantry off the kitchen.

Image
Fancy

Image
Living room kitty corner too...

Image
This little alcove

Image
Weird chair I wouldn't mind lighting on fire.

Image
Nice room, foofy furniture. Is that stuff made to be sat on?

Image
Loved the color scheme of the house. I should mention that every wall in every room was handpainted, even though it looks like wallpaper.

I love going to things like this. Last summer I went to housing tour downtown where it was all fancy lofts and condos... And this year there was a tour of a bunch of historical mansions in the city but I missed it.

Yeah, I've been on this every year since 2004 or 05 I think. I always like the field trips to historical houses we took in elementary school.

The Alex Bay boat tour is pretty awesome, with a guided tour of Singer Castle and unguided tour of Boldt Castle. (Great opportunity to find an empty room to make out with your girlfriend).

I like the foofy furniture. lol.

These homes are all right, but kind of... sterile. Or something.

I am disappoint. I'll take an old house in a city's artsy neighborhood any day. Buffalo should do a parade of homes through Elmwood Village.

They are always doing random housing tours and stuff. A few years ago there was a housing tour around Allentown on Linwood and Franklin.
