I am starting to hate my Curve more and more everyday. It keeps freezing on me basically, for simple things, like if I get a facebook notification and text it does the hourglass thing. It annoys me to no end. As long as the tablet doesn't do that. |

If they've driven you away from their phones, what makes you think they can get a tablet right? I'm not saying the iPad is god. I'll list a few things I don't like about it right now. 1. The screen sucks for reading outside. 2. The resolution of the screen seems really crappy now that I have the iPhone 4 (retina display is unreal.) 3. No camera for video chat. (This seems like a no brainer feature to me.) 4. No multitasking. |

I was kinda thinking the same thing. I'm interested to see if they do put on this new OS from that other company they bought. The BB OS really sucks on a phone, I can't see how it would translate well on a tablet. EDIT: The camera is most likely coming in iPad 2. Good old planned obsolescence!! Multitasking should be in a couple weeks or so. iOS 4.2 is getting closer to final, probably before the end of November it should be out. It's pretty solid and unbuggy now. |

yawn...playing catch-up to apple is a pretty shitty business model. And I'm a blackberry fan. I'm not getting on the tablet train until the hardware is a commodity and the software is open and ubiquitous. Until then y'all are just fanboys spending too much money |

I hate the way their multitasking works on my iPhone 4 though. There's no way to quit an app as you leave it... it just stays open, and then the most recent apps are the ones that get the ram to keep where you left them. And on top of that, applications themselves have to support multitasking. It seems like a waste of a feature if the developers won't use it. |

That's not how it works. The recently run apps appear in that bar. They're only using system resources if they've been coded to use the allowable multitasking APIs. An application that isn't coded to use the multitasking APIs will show up in the list, but load from scratch if you launch it. It's specifically written so apps can't just sit there and eat up RAM. (Not saying it doesn't happen, but it's built in a way that it shouldn't happen.) |

Here's HP's entry in the the tablet space. It's pretty fail. 22 seconds from power on until user input. Dedicated CTRL-ATL-DEL button is FAIL. Running Windows 7, which isn't close to optimal for touch input. This thing isn't going to sell for shit. |

I like the name slate way better than iPad. But come on... a ctrl alt delete key built in? That just screams, "Destined for failure." |

I'm no Apple fan, but the iPad is glorious. A BB tablet would fail pretty hard, as it's already on the way out. the iOS and Android will own the mobile device market for years to come, with Windows picking up the scraps. |

I wish there was more of a breakthrough in technology, like haven't tablets been done to death already??? Its 2010 someone needs to definitely come up with something else other than re-branding computers, phones and TV's. With that being said I have though about maybe getting an iPad but already have a laptop so probably not. |

Tablets have been done wrong for years. It wasn't until iOS was developed for a tablet that it was done right. Now Google is working on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), making it tablet-optimized. Once they do, Apple and the Android-powered tablets will revitalize the market. |

You know how 90% of icebergs are under the water line, and can't be seen? Think of the very first iPod back in 2001. Now look at where they are today. We're seeing the first successful tablets hit the market right now. Imagine where that market will be in 5 years, and what they will be capable of... |

It's just because no one developed a good OS for tablets, they have all been way too based on the Windows versions, and windows desktop does not translate well into tablet form. Apple revitalized tablets with touch better then anyone. They started small with the iTouch and iPhone and realized their iOS was genius for Tablets. |

I'm going to do what's happened three or four times already, but save myself the effort of rewording anything. Pretend I just spat out the same shit you've heard three times in this thread. |

honestly, i dont think tablets will ever be big. lets face it, they are big cell phones without the ability to make calls or texts. basically, everything in a tablet will be in a cell phone, and the things that wont be in a cell phone will be in your convenient and trusty laptop. |
