Obviously they are bullying to hide the fact their dicks are the same size as they were at 5 years old.

Teachers don't do jack shit about bullying, and neither do parents. And on the off chance some kid does stand up for themselves, they get in trouble for it anyways.

I am at a loss of words with all this bullying and suicides that have happened over the years. It's just heartbreaking. I just hope kids can be brave enough to stand up for their peers when they see someone getting harassed by bullies.

It's a shame teenagers have to go through that period of having no real perspective on things combined with a hormone cocktail that would put down an elephant.

Bad combo.

I was a very sensitive, very shy, scared, and VERY a insecure kid. Not at all comfortable with my own body. Wasn't exactly prepared for what middle school and high school was going to do to me. You don't have to want to suck a dudes dick to be branded a "faggot" in Pittsburgh, you just have to be sensitive, shy, scared, and insecure. Heck, 2 of the 4 will get you there. I was tormented and bullied to the point of giving up, but instead of killing myself I decided to abuse drugs and alcohol and jerk off 3-6 times a day. So you see, eventually you have to rise up and take control, and stop being the victim. Now, nobody messes with me. Seriously, nobody will come within 50 feet of me if they can help it. It's AWESOME! :-D

Not true

I had a girl bullying others in my 6th period and you better believe I got that bitch good. She couldn't go anywhere in our school with out some adult or admin hounding her. I take personal pride in that.

The problem with that is she (like most bullies) was always sweet and kind in my presence. I only knew she was terrorizing other kids was because one one of my cross country kids (I coach too) let me know.

1. Bullies tend to wait til they are in a large group setting (the lunchroom or locker room) and out of the direct presence of adults to commit their crimes. They usually lack prosocial behaviors that most normal people (like us!) have and don't see any wrong-doing in their actions.

2. On the other hand, victims of bullying do not usually report that they're being bullied for fear of being labeled a snitch or worse. They don't want to be seen as weak. It's a hard thing to admit you're being bullied.

Because of these two items, it makes it almost impossible for teachers to catch all bullies. I have this one boy now who's the biggest douchebag ever. I've told him, to his face, that he's a jerk. (I think he thinks I'm joking...) But if I wrote him up for "being a jerk" or picking on kids, nothing really would be done. Our assistant principals are so overworked as it is, it's hard to catch everything

The math teacher in my program wrote one of our kids up for calling someone else "dumb". He didn't see what was so wrong with that. No lesson learned.

I always feel really sad when I read about suicides because of bullying. There has been a rash of gay teens who have killed themselves because of homophobic bullying.

Fair point. I was bullied in 8th grade by two morons in my technology class. Most because I was small and "hey, let's pick on the small kid!" seems t be a common theme. Luckily we could sit where we wanted so I just said fuck this and moved up to the table right near the teacher's desk instead of the one in the back. Problem solved. The teacher was too oblivious to know what was going on.

Then again in 10th grade gym I got made fun of a lot because my gym shirt was usually a Cal Ripken jersey-shirt. The funny thing is that the ringleader was a few inches shorter and a few pounds lighter than me. I finally told him to shut the fuck up and he left me alone after that. He was bitter because we were lab partners in Bio and I wouldn't let him just straight copy my work. I'm pretty sure the gym coach knew what was going on, he just did nothing about it because most of the kids doing it were HS athletes and I wasn't at the time.

Its amazing of some of the teachers I work with that are too lazy to do anything. I'm all over bullyers when I see them. I told one kid to stand his ground, like whispered it to him because he was running away from a bully. The bully hesitated, but he still went after the kid and the kid kicked him a few times before I broke it up. Ha, then I sent the bully to the office...little prick

This by far fly, is the best thoughts I've seen written on the subject. Kudos to you for being mature beyond your years.
Since most bullying takes place away from responsible adults, this is an outstanding look on the subject.

This is just terrible and incredibly hard to read. I know that my high school last year was very high on social status, etc. It was always difficult going to school seeing your friends get picked on or even just innocent teenagers who we're just being themselves.

I myself can say I stood up for my friends, and even myself at times with bullying and other crap. I had a few trips to the principals office and a few times, it got pretty complicated but I know deep down it was worth all the shit/punishment.

I seriously think they need to put a stop to this whole bullying problem. It's just going to get worse.

My mom says the same thing about some of the teachers she works with. In jr. high, both the gym teachers were stand up guys and they kept a pretty good watch over that sort of thing.

In high school though, the gym teachers were just old meatheads, and they wanted to let all the meathead athletes be little douchebag meatheads.

When I was working in a school campus a few years ago, I took a kid who wasn't a bully, he was a flat out criminal and full blown asshole, into the men's bathroom. This was right after I found out about him threatening another student (again) with a gang beat down or even a shooting. So I pull him out of class, acting like a stereotypical hard-ass cop in front of everybody (because he deserved the routine) and commenced to berate him in the bathroom, talking all kinds of trash just a few inches from his face about how I wasn't going to treat him like "school" anymore, that I was going to treat him like "street" and find a reason to take him to jail every chance I had.

Then I literally hauled him to the principal and he threatened to kick him out of the entire school district. By the end of the discussion the asshole was actually crying. It was perhaps the best I ever felt in four years as a school resource officer. The asshole kept his mouth shut and didn't commit a crime until six months later. He's since been arrested numerous times off campus, but at least that one student didn't have to worry about him for the rest of the year.

I really do hate when people I care for or even people who are the prime subjects to get picked on do.

I've stood up for them before like leave them alone, especially if they are getting harassed and don't realize it, just because of a condition they might have.

I'm guilty of bullying or talking behind someone's back like everyone on this earth.

I was picked on in middle school by the older kids just because they were all douches, but in High School no one picked on me because I never gave them a response they wanted. Call me whatever and my responses was always the same. Plus I did have a height advantage over most so I was never a target for bullying thankfully.

As a freshman in high school, I see this just about everyday in the halls. I get bullied on for my race but I just ignore it and pretend I didnt hear it. That seems to work most of the time.

this really made me especially sad.

while its not my race, rather my ethnicity.. i used to get that sort of stuff a lot. i went to a catholic school, and used to get asked, "are you a jew?" hatefully. or get made fun of in general based on my features, a lot. i'm full sicilian so i have naturally curly hair, and a bit of a bump on my nose. the sad part is, i went to school with a LOT of other italian kids. ignoring them didn't work for me, i was and still am, way too fucking sensitive.

but to my point, don't let them get away with it. don't let those kids think its ok to make fun of you.. especially for something like your race. in the real world that shit is not going to be just let go, and one day if they do it to the wrong person they'll really get their asses kicked. stand up for yourself, even if its as simple as saying, "dude, shut up." i know how hard that is, though. i never had the balls to, but wish i could have.

Thanks man, I'll do that from now on, well at least to my classmates because I dont think the Upperclassmen will really care what a Freshman thinks.
