I need someone to take control of my computer and tell me where I fucked up.

Just went out and bought Windows 7 OS disk.
Virus shut me down.

Now, I get no color (blue background on SJ site...so on and so on).
I get message telling me not enough memory?
Won't memorize my passwords and login names.
No photos or vids showing up. :(
Email does work (please, no spam, unless its Nude photos of Kathy Ireland ;) )
[email protected]

SOS folks, anyone care to take over and tell me what to do here?

Thanks a bunch guys and gals.

Slesh (Ty)

But seriously, your order of events is throwing me off - did you purchase the Windows 7 disc before or after the virus hit you?

Dude, this is so fucked. I had to log back in just to respond Phil.

I had to re-install windows 7 with a new disk. 64 bit.

Now, the background is going between white some of the time and blue others.

Man, I need to download a program so you can take over and take a look at this shit.

Also, Phil is spot on. You really need to try Ubuntu. Its the soul saver of the Operating System world... Once you go Ubuntu, you never go back..

Ubuntu (and all Linux desktop distros) are going to be much better soon. There's a new kernel patch in the pipeline that dramatically improves multitasking performance inside Xwindow managers. It's significant enough that even Linus thinks it's the shit, and he's notoriously hard to impress.

NYIntensity had to walk me through a manual setup of Windows 7.
It was crazy, but thanks man.

The original issue was my system was hit with something.......Don't know what.....that wouldn't allow Internet Explorer to work.
I could access the internet with skype, but only through the skype program. Any time I would try to go to www. or http: it wouldn't connect and avast kept telling me there was a threat to my system.........CYCBOT. something or other.

I could operate the system normally offline, but not online. Pretty much sucked.

So, after I went out, bought Windows 7 OS, NYIntensity helped come back online, I then took the OS to my desktop (I'm o a lap top now). My desk top has been down for months. Long story there.

So anyways, I went to install the OS on the desktop and a new problem has risen for me on that end.
It goes through the same motions as the desk top, but it isn't reading any drivers.
It keeps telling me it doesnt recognize the hardware.

Its a gaming computer that I had the guys at Best Buy in Augusta Georgia throw together for the kids 3 years ago.
II don't know where to find a driver package for it or how to install it considering it doesn't currently have an OS. :x

Gimme a call when you've got some time. I'll see if I can come up with something.

On a side note - his original issue (imo) was some bit of malware. I don't know what, and didn't care to try to figure out, as Slesh had already gone out and purchased an OS and was ready to wipe the machine.

It will end up there. That kernel patch will be in the Debian distro, and that's where Ubuntu sources from.

Reading this series of posts is like trying to read a technical manual in Romanian to me. You think you might know what some of the words mean, but taken together you just have no clue.
