What is everybody getting? Asking for? Doing for the holidays?

Any fun Christmas traditions?

My family doesn't do a whole lot. We always get a real tree because we have a cathedral ceiling in the living room so we have an eight-ish foot tall tree. (Pics to come). I decorated my room with blue and gold Christmas lights and will be wearing lights to the arena on Anaheim (I did it for the Pens game).

My family is annoyed with me because I haven't really told them anything I want, haha. I don't mind, I just like the weather and the season.

I picked up a USB - floppy drive for my dad
Season 7 of NCIS and a Snowman Mug for my mom
PJ pants for each of my sisters' best friends
Still thinking about what im gonna get my sisters.

Mother: no idea yet... oops lol. I really don't know what to get her, though.
Father: civet poop coffee (best in the world, cost $25 for a bag) and a Linux fish to put on his car because he uses/is mildly obsessed with Linux yeeaah
19-year-old brother and 16-year-old brother: splitting a complete Halo encyclopedia because that thing was expensive and would be appreciated by both
11-year-old brother: a kit to grow bacteria from various surfaces around the house. I fully intend to help him with this lol.
9-year-old brother: 3D drawing pad and this powder stuff to put in the bath that turns the water to gel

I got a couple friends some things, too.

This year I'll end up going to my aunt and uncle's house for dinner Christmas Eve as was the tradition before my family moved. Now that they live there once more, it will start up again.

Christmas Eve I go to my grandparent's house in East Amherst. Christmas Day I go to Niagara Falls to visit more family from my dad's side, and then afterwords we're going to Grand Island to visit my mom's side of the family.

I haven't gotten my family anything for Christmas yet...I plan on going shopping this week.

We still need to get our tree. But I love Christmas. The past two years I've volunteered at the Carly's Club holiday party (which is tomorrow) and the holiday event at Roswell. I love doing it, really brings out the Christmas spirit I think.

Definitely. I'm going to online shop for people from now on. I'm sad that my brothers are growing up because boys are the most fun to buy for, especially when you get them gifts that you can help them use.

I've stopped celebrating Christmas like a Yuletide demon as I had done in the past. I'm buying for Missy and Joshua and that's it. Joshua doesn't know it yet, but he's getting a Leapster and some games, a Team USA Olympic jersey AND a new Sabres jersey, and a pair of nets to go in the big backyard rink that Grandpa will be building.

I'm not posting what I'm getting Missy cuz she's crafty enough to look here (HI BABE).

My Christmas and Birthday gift from my parents is going to be a new car of some sort, I just don't know what it is yet.

The Impala I wanted to buy my uncle sold yesterday, at damn near his asking price. He called me and asked me if it was ok, and I told him make his money when he could.

So I will be getting a new car, my dad wants the Ford Fusion I had bought, so they're gonna be hooking me up with something atleast that night.

All in all I don't really want much, so that will be a nice financial burden lifted from my shoulders.

Christmases used to SUCK when I lived at home, many years ago.

In the morning, we got up, and my mom made breakfast. We all sat down to eat. Afterwards we all headed to the living room...... to watch A Christmas Story. Start to finish.

Notice I didn't mention any gifts yet? That's because WE COULDN'T TOUCH SHIT UNTIL AFTER WE WERE DONE WATCHING A CHRISTMAS STORY!!! Absolutely ponderous.

My friends would be calling me to tell me what they got, and I still hadn't touched a damn thing. Fucking hated it.

I'll be going up to NY to visit with my Fiancee's family first over in Utica. I will be getting her parents a gift card to a local restaurant, her brother i think an itunes gift card. Then I'll be going to Rochacha to spend time with my family where we'll do christmas day and then a couple days later with all of the relatives.

Brother: GPS (cheap)
Mom: New netbook
Dad: Wine store gift card + chinese gift card
Fiancee: GPS (traffic and lifetime maps).

I always get all my relatives scratch off tickets.

If the weather behaves, then I'll take my Fiancee back to where I proposed to chill and enjoy the lakefront, possibly go to cheeburger cheeburger or even better schallers. If we're extremely hungry then a garbage plate is in order.

My family has a very unique tradition.
When my Mom and Dad first got married, their first Christmas living together they had just moved into a new apartment (days before) and they didn't have any of their furniture or cookware. So the best they could do for Christmas eve was eat cheese fondue on the living room floor.

Now we all eat cheese fondue on the living room floor on Christmas eve. My sister's family does too.
It's weird, but it's ours :D

That's too funny.

My family usually does the same thing each year. We used to go to my grandmother's house on Christmas eve, and then she'd come home with us and spend the night so she'd be with us Christmas morning to open presents.

She's no longer with us. I don't have any grandparents left, so I'm not sure what we'll do for Christmas eve this year. Possibly spend it with some close family friends who are sort of like relatives to us. Every now and then we'd go to their house after our grandmother's on christmas eve and have a few drinks and exchange gifts.

I'm not asking for much this year. A new jacket. Some gift cards to get some new clothes. Tickets to a Sabres game.

A+. My grandfather volunteered as a bell ringer every year until he died.
