Try giving this site a shot, DF...

http://www.mp3raid.com/

Also, not sure if you are into DLing torrents and stuff, but isohunt.com usually has full albums available.

Hope this helps.

Not that I know anything about this kind of stuff, but here's what I've heard...lol

Torrents allow you to download or share files with other users. Probably the most well known torrent site is The Pirate Bay. You'll need to download bittorrent to download files. If you are there, and downloading music, you will usually end up with a .rar file. This is pretty much the same thing as a .zip file. It's just a way to bundle individual files (songs) in a single package (an album, greatest hits, complete discography, or whatever).

You should be able to find a free .rar converter, which will extract the individual files from the .rar "package", and leave you with the songs. You will generally end up with .mp3 or .wav files which should play on most media players. Higher quality files like .flac files maight require a different media player.

Aside from Pirate Bay, you may have success just googling the album name or the artist name and "blogspot". There are lots of people out there who want to share what they are into. You'll still usually end up with .rar files if you take this route, but you won't need bittorrent.

You are on your way, my friend! You'll figure out the rest as you go.

I use Mediafire a lot. Just google "[song/album name] mediafire" and usually a link will come up to download a .zip file.

torrentz.com is a search engine just for torrents. I haven't had problems with it and I've probably picked up a few hundred torrents from there. And I'm pretty sure Limewire will work as a client (at least, it did when I used it). All you have to do is click "Download Torrent" on your chosen site and do whatever you do to open the file. It should go straight to Limewire.

A lot of them are already in mp3 format too. Saves some hassle.

I use Demonoid. Love it. I'm also a member on a couple of other torrent communities.

Bitttorrent is a peer to peer protocol. Basically, you download a .torrent file, that connects you to something called a tracker. The tracker is a list of peers that have pieces of the file that you want. Your computer finds machines that have what you need, and you connect directly to them and copy those pieces. At the same time, other people connect to your machine to copy pieces that you already have.

The decentralized aspect of it is what appeals to many. Problem is that you can still get nailed by DCMA nonsense because you're uploading pieces of potentially copyrighted material.

My short explaination.

A torrent is a file which contains information about the file you want to download and the tracker you want to connect to. The tracker is the site that delivers the client list (seeds) which share the file. As soon as your program has finished downloading a segment of the file you get listed as seeder (or leecher) for that segment....
There doesn't exist a fixed network of clients who share files, there are client lists for every file which are updated dynamically. With a torrent you get the file and tracker information.

EDIT: I didn't read squanto's post. I'm always too late :)

This, right here. Only time I use torrents is when I'm downloading really obscure music from What.CD.

Do you create an account or just google? Also, can you download whole albums?

Just Google it. No account needed, and you get the full album.

I use isohunt and demonoid to search for torrents, and I use Utorrent to download them.
