I cant believe this piece of shit has the gall.... http://www.thegrio.com/sports/michael-vick-a-new-dog-could-help-my-rehabilitation.php He thinks having a dog will help his rehabilitation. As the best friend of a Pit Bull, it makes me sick to think that he'd ever have the chance to know the insane love that comes from caring (you know, instead of shooting, drowning, electrocuting, or beating to death) for a Pit. I've had lots of dogs, none of them have approached the intensity of affection or loyalty that i've seen from Pit Bulls. This pisses me off to no end. And if I had to guess, i'd say the 'superstar quarterback' will get what he wants, court order or not. I bet there are a few pedophiles out there who think a little bit of afterschool babysitting would be just the thing they need to 'get on the right track'... |

He electrocuted, threw, shot, drowned, and stabbed dogs. He even beat them to death. All of this because they didn't fight or they didn't win a fight. If you do this, then your mind is not fixable. A second chance is worthless. He will always and will forever be fucked in the head. |

What he did was disgusting and terrible. I do not however feel like he should be punished for the rest of his life for it. If he can prove that he can be a responsible pet owner, and not come anywhere near his previous behavior, then I don't have a problem with it. |

I think he should gain his pet owner privelages by going into a cage with an MMA fighter and seeing how he likes it. |

If you live in a tiny apartment the SPCA won't let you rescue a big dog. If you're under 18 they won't give you one either. Fuck Vick. He has forfeited that privilege. It's part of his sentence...it's a punishment...he should accept it. |

It's not exactly precedent setting to say he can no longer have contact with animals in an ownership capacity. Aren't released pedophiles not allowed to live within some distance from schools? What about people convicted of vehicular homicide, aren't they often not allowed to have licenses for a long time afterwards? Even if they truly have a chance of heart and would NEVER EVER EVER drink and drive again, they've 'done the crime', and thus 'do the time'. Vick served his prison sentence, but his 'time' isnt done yet, I'd imagine that if this part of his sentence is waived, it's probably because of his celebrity, which feels really fucked to me personally. |

No, Squanto, I dont believe that Micheal Vick, convicted dog killer, should be allowed to own dogs for the rest of his life. Do I think it's possible that he's 'rehabilitated', and has had a change of heart? Quite possibly. Does that excuse his crime, or negate the sentence that was passed down? hells no it does not. If a habitual drunk driver receives a court penalty saying he's never allowed to have a license again, but a couple years later finds god and completes a 12 step program, should he just be given the right to have a license again? He's already shown he's too much of a risk to let drive, he should have to live with that. |
