So come to find out my girlfriend's mom's adoptive family is from East Aurora and at the very least had close ties with the Knox brothers through the East Aurora Polo club, Seymour H. Knox III in particular. As far as we've been able to figure Seymour H. Knox II's sister Marjorie married into her mom's adoptive family, the Wyckoff family, but this is unconfirmed.

They've got a few books/diaries written by SHK himself detailing his time playing polo with several pretty cool pics. I plan on trying to get copies when I visit them (they live in Maryland).

Kind of random but pretty cool. Anyone know of any free ways to research ancestry so we can figure out if there's a connection between the Wyckoffs and the Knoxs?

That's interesting. Not sure how to look up their ancestry, although my uncle was the park manager of Knox Farm in East Aurora up until it closed a few months ago, maybe he'll know how to find that out.
