so as im sure some are aware, they are re-doing the show the flintstones, putting a modern spin on the show. as if that idea isnt bad enough, its being done by family guy creator seth macfarland. does this guy have something on the fox president? his 3 current shows are horrifically terrible.

family guy used to be funny in 1999, but they changed something and it just got terrible.

but enough of what i think, what do you guys think?

I think the retro or remake trend in entertainment is annoying and shows a real lack of creativity. Why do we need a new Willy Wonka film w/Johnny Depp instead of Gene Wilder? Why do we need a live-action Scooby Doo movie? Why doesn't the guy come up with another original idea for a series?

Also I agree that Family Guy was funny in its first incarnation, but isn't worth watching at all anymore

he already has 3 shows on TV! family guy is bad, american dad is... a little less bad, but still bad, and the cleveland show is fucking horrific.

its the same damn thing. random jokes about 80s pup culture, and half the kids laughing dont even get it.

Personally I like Family guy. I thought when it first came out it blew but it's funny now. American Dad and The Cleaveland whatever suck though. I wouldn't mind seeing his take on it but I'm not having high hopes.

Its Fox.. anything Seth touches is gold. I am meh about Family Guy.. I like American Dad for some reason... and I have never watched the Cleveland Show.
Personally I like Regular Show and Adventure Time. Always good for a laugh.

I pretty much agree with everything you said.

South Park remains relevant in the meantime, so I'm happy to have that at least. And of course Archer.

The Flintstones was one of those shows I wish I had never bothered watching when I was a kid. Just a waste of time, like Gilligan's Island or The Brady Bunch. No redeeming features. The Flintstones was basically just an animated rip-off of The Honeymooners.
Don't get me wrong. I love The Honeymooners to this day. It was arguably the most important show ever, the genesis of every sit-com ever.

Can't argue with that.
