Is there any possible way we could expand the maximum avatar size? I know it takes up more space, but I haven't been able to find a picture that fits the 180x180 criteria in a long time.

I know there's a way to downsize an image using an image resizer.

Well, as long as it's Q&A time, can anyone tell me how to use a gif for my avatar?

Download GIMP for free and edit pics any way you want, including downsizing them. :P

Make an account on Tinypic/Photobucket and upload your avatar to there. It's easy to resize photos on there, and then you can also use the account to stop hotlinking things.
