Hey everyone. The family and I just got orders to Langley AFB in Virginia and I was wondering if anyone has ever been there. It's south east of Williamsburg, right out on the ocean. We need to start looking at houses down there and would like to get an idea of which neighborhoods are nice, which are slow paced and quiet etc. Shit, also if anyone wants to rent a house in Colorado Springs i happen to have one...hahahaha!  Big thing is I'm gonna be 10 hours away instead of 27-30! |

I have two speeds, pink and burnt plus I get wicked heat exhaustion pretty easy. It's like my genetic makeup is strictly for Buffalo weather only. |

It's like my genetic makeup is strictly for Buffalo weather only. i'd say its tolerable hot. my sister and brother and law used to live in stafford, va when he was stationed in quantico, and i thought it was totally tolerable. and i'm a fall/winter sort of person. then again, williamsburg is further south and more coastal than stafford, so i really can't say for sure. |

I live in Harford County, Maryland. I am just telling you to prepare for humid weather. A normal 90-95 degree day feels like 115, not to mention it feels like you are breating and walking through water. Then again you are close to the ocean so you got the breeze thing going for you. If you ever wanna meet up and hit up a Caps game together let me know. Or if you ever want to meet up and get a tour around Baltimore,also, let me know.

I'm totally down for a Caps game and I will need a wing man for the Sabres games up there this coming season! That humidity is gonna kill me. Colorado Springs is high desert which means it's so dry here that my nose bleeds sometimes. |

Caps fans mean no harm. Most don't know half the rules associated with the game. Being in the Dc metropitan area just be prepared to see thousands of Ovie tee's roaming around. I will admit that I do like to watch the Caps play. Watch out for those Philly fans. They run amock and if their team loses shit hits the fan. There is a reason the Eagles have a courthouse and jailcells under their stadium. The only fans I don't rib at during games are Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies fans. |

I think my boyfriend PMed you on my account earlier, he lived/worked at Langley for a few years. Let me know if you have any other questions for him and I'll pass the information along. We live in WV now, so we're going to try to make either a Sabres/Caps or Sabres/Hurricanes game sometime this season. We could see how many SabresJunkies members we can get in the same non-HSBC arena at the same time.

After awhile you get more used to the heat. The first year or so it will be pretty damn hot, but once you've lived in a hot and humid area for some time, the heat isn't as unbearable to be in. But you will get colder faster at higher temperatures in the winter than in Colorado. |

that depends on where he lives in colorado. if he lives in the mountains, then yeah. but denver is pretty much a desert. it gets fuckin hot as balls there. |

I live in Colorado Springs which is about an hour south of Denver but in the same spot at the foot of the mountains. To the east it's flat until you hit the Carolinas and the mountains are right here on our western border. It's super dry all year here and in the summer it's in the high 90's. |

Be prepared for the fact that no one in the MD/DC/VA area can drive worth shit. Then, just wait til the snow comes. Not only can people down here not drive in two inches of snow, but everything gets closed down for a week. Fun times. |

WELCOME TO THE COMMONWEALTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lived here in Virginia for almost 12 years.  Completely agree with the snow comment. When we got hammered (6-12 inches, twice in a two week period) with the snow a couple years ago my kids didn't go to school for two full weeks. Be prepared to get annoyed with how they clear snow....but the good thing is, you will rarely see it. Especially on the coast. It can get hot and humid (especially this week, calling for 100's) but you'll have the ocean breeze to help you unlike me who is hopelessly landlocked between DC and Richmond. You'll love the area since it's more touristy with Va Beach, Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens all within a short driving distance. That also means a shit load of traffic during the summer months. I do love sitting on the beach watching jets fly over and navel ships in the distance. Very cool sight. If you decide to take a trip towards DC be prepared for amazing amount of traffic. I work just outside of DC (Fairfax County) and live about 40 minutes (with virtually no traffic) south of the city and it has taken me more than two hours to get home.... |
