since the contraction "what's" can mean "what was" in addition to "what is" i will choose the past tense. the are many elements in society that have been enlightening and entertaining, and it is the reflection on literary and philosophical progress that allows me to believe in many of the virtues that perservered through many dark times. even now, i feel that there is something that can be said for the ability of humanity to maintain a certain level of decency and functionality, but i also feel that it is rapidly falling victim to complacency, convenience, and technology. with that said, i would like to state that i am not for the elimination of these things, but i do feel that moderation is necessary. come on, humanity, have some restraint. |
