So my wife and I are going home to visit and I want to take her out for a day of crazy eating in Buffalo. I'm looking for the best places to find the following:

Pizza
Steak and cheese subs
Chicken finger subs
wings (probably heading to Duffs for those)
Beef on weck

My personal preference for pizza is Bocce Club, but I was raised that way so I'm probably biased.

I like La Nova Pizza. It's located on West Ferry between Richmond and Grant.
For subs, the only place I remember is Jim's Steakout. Is that place still good?
Wings you can find most anywhere and they'll be good. Duff's is a good choice.
Beef on Weck I have no idea, I can only tell you where to get it in Olean.

La Nova is good for Pizza and wings (I used to live on their food for a couple years), but I guess I'd call their pizza unremarkable. It's good, but not special IMO.

Pizza? Nino's Pizza. It's near Duff's too. :)

I don't understand what makes their pizza so special. I've worked there for 2 years, and every time I mention that to someone, they say it's the best pizza ever. It's just average to me.

Sensitive topic asking about pizza in Buffalo. I see this turning into a Daniel Day Lewis thread...There will be blood.

Oh, that's not blood, that's tomato sauce.

Steak and cheese subs, Viola's in Niagara Falls. You absolutely cannot go wrong there. They're so good!

I think Mothers has the best wings in Buffalo. It's located on Virginia Place in Allentown. They have a good bar menu and their regular menu changes every day, and their kitchen is open until 3 AM.

Jim's won best steak and cheese subs for 2011 in the Art voice poll. I'm thinking that I'll hit them up for their chicken finger and steak subs.

What is the best food in the Buffalo airport?

My wife is returning Monday after a week in WNY for a funeral and the way airlines are now about security the only food you can bring on the plane is what you buy in the terminal. So, if I'm getting any WNY chow it is going to be airport food.

Looks like my choices are the Landmark Bar and Carvery, Blue Zone, Lake Erie Grille, Matties Texas Red Hots, and the Anchor Bar. I think I'll go with some wings from the Anchor Bar, if she doesn't mind sitting next to a bag of a couple of dozen hot wings for two-and-half hours.

Pizza - Pizza Oven in Lockport. Although that's likely way out of the way. It's Bocce-esque, but has a really sweet sauce. It's awesome. Otherwise, Bocce's, Leonardi's, Imperial, and Picasso's/Santora's all are very good (but only the Santora's on Transit/Clinton).
Steak and cheese subs - Jim's Steakout probably? Rodney's (the fish fry place) on Route 5 also has a good one...quite heavy with grease...but it's good.
wings (probably heading to Duffs for those) - Bar Bill in East Aurora. No contest. Perfect crispness, not dripping with sauce like Duff's. Very flavorful...and be careful, they are hot!
Beef on weck - Bar Bill, again.

i'm not really any help on this, but it's kind of funny to me that in buffalo everyone says steak and cheese subs, in rochester the cheese part just goes unsaid.

I'll be in Lewiston and Youngstown so Lockport isn't that far. I may hit them up. Thanks
