Perhaps he's just renaming it to the 'jesus christ are these really our elected officials?' section. |

Kicking around the idea of eliminating it (again) and possibly some other non-hockey related content. I wanted to see how many people complained. |

Since this is supposed to be SABRESjunkie , and a good chunk of people have just stopped coming here, we wanted to try bringing this back to a Sabres/NHL/Hockey only forum. There's plenty of political forums out there to get your fill i would imagine. We'll slowly be adding and removing things as time allows. |

Fuck it. Do whatever you want. |

I just don't see the debates in there as being as heated as they used to be, and I find them a good source of alternate opinions. |

Maybe a fucking awful team and Sabres threads that discuss trades, firings, and blame ad nauseum, and where all sense of fun has been sucked out has more to do with it? |

IMO, the sense of fun has been sucked out of here by the constant bitching. Pollyanna Sunshine wants "you" to all lighten up! Nertz! You guys got rid of most of the Smilies! No fair!!! |

Nuthatch, I agree with you 100%. Well said! I also agree with NYI that the politics forum has been very civil for a long time now. |

And as far as "other politics forums" goes, I never have participated in such sites, but what I fear is ending up on a forum that panders to my beliefs and doesn't challenge me. Here, I know pretty much no one thinks that much like me and I like the opportunity to hear other opinions I might not, as well as engage in debates with people that disagree with each other on a range of issues. I feel like the political discussions here are more real in that there actually is a potential that we can influence each other's opinions. It's no secret to anyone that knows my posts that most of the time I'm NOT posting about the Sabres. That's because I feel like the level of conversation is much lower in many (but not all) of the Sabres debates than it is in the threads on other topics. I think it would be a shame to take away some of the more unique aspects of this site in order to make it more like the official site which I fled from in terror 3 years ago or whatever. |

ok, ok, the people have spoken. It seems everyone also inferred the general reasons around what we were trying to do. We've lost a lot of valuable posters in the last few months and the boards seems to be a dwindling community. If anyone would like to offer suggestions for what could make this a better place, or do some outreach to their friends, that would be great. XC |

XC The Sabres start winning again and I gaurentee people will start coming back. I rather enjoyed the politics section. I never took offense to anything and hearing others peoples opinions is nice. And it has been incredibly civil as of late. |

I don't want to see this place die out. I'll make a thread.... |
