Having gone to the game, I disagree. It was a fun spectacle with a great atmosphere as part of Super Bowl week festivities, compared to the usually unwatched, forgotten and unbearably pointless game in Honolulu. The overnight ratings bore that out, too, getting an absolutely enormous 7.9 share, bigger than even the Orange Bowl, and the attendance had record 70,000 fans packing the stadium.

The game will always be worthless, of course, it's the nature of football being a violent sport playing a meaningless exhibition... but it certainly was a lot bigger and better of a show this way.
