no. the corners get what they can. 1st and 3rd are supposed to grab whatever's in their reach.
3rd base, yes. 1st base is a judgement call based on the positioning at 2nd base and how hard the ball is hit. In this case the 2nd baseman had an easy play. When the 2nd baseman has an easy play he should be the one fielding the ball. Like I said though...it's beside the point.
