zito had a pretty decent year last year. he could make alot of teams stronger in the bottom half of their rotation, as long as they dont overspend.

The only team that will over spend for 4/5 starters are the Mets, and they have no money

Verlander looked great for 2.1 innings, then after he lost that Fastball to Tex it was the beginning of the end. That was a freaking shot. Good baseball game though.

Dodgers at 8pm; can't wait to see Kershaw tonight, that kid could be a Cy Young candidate with a solid team around him, too bad the Dodgers did nothing significant this offseason.

eh, six innings pitched, 3 runs... thats not exactly bad. i think sabathia had the same line, though he gave up more hits. texs shot was one of those where he got the barrel around, and that was that.

The short answer is no, it's an uncapped league;

However they do have a "luxury tax" system that requires teams with Higher payrolls to have to pay far more into revenue sharing, making it possible for other teams to compete in theory. More often than not, the owners just pocket that money and really dont spend it on the team.

Large market teams with deep pocketbooks definitely have the advantage in that league.

Now all media outlets are jumping on the Texas rangers bandwagon and off Boston, even though I said earlier that Texas is the team to beat

Bottom 12 at Fenway. It's 2:15am.

Since this game started, I've gone to a concert, gotten half drunk, had dinner, sobered up, went back to work, ate dinner again, and gotten my work done.

This is insanity.

Even though I don't watch baseball, I still love baseball stats and reading the box scores every once in a while.

i went to a tigers game a few years ago and it went into the 14th inning. i was sitting in right field, and the place emptied out (it was a tuesday).. finally i yelled "SOMEBODY FUCKING SCORE!" and bobby higginson, then tigers right fielder started laughing and gave me a thumbs up.
