I like lacrosse. You all know this. Let's talk about lacrosse! The NLL draft is tonight at 7PM. The Bandits have four good second round picks in a deeeep draft. I bet they'll try and move a couple with some players to snag some first round picks for next year and try to get Cody Jamieson that way. Let's Go Bandits!! |

Detroit was once home to the Turbos, the team who once fielded both legendary Gait brothers, Gary and Paul, and had a promising draftee named John Tavares who established a neat little career for himself after being traded to the fledgling Bandits Oh man, my mind breaks when I think about both Gaits and JT playing on the same line. Good gawd yall! |

Yep. Won the 1991 title (big friggin surprise there), but folded in 1994. The game would have been a better place if the Turbos survived, lemme tell ya. Those teams were STAAAACKED. |

detroit had two arena football league teams too. both folded. we pretty much like our big 4 sports, plus we have major colleges near by, so its very very saturated. |

The Bandits did some major moving and shaking today at the draft. Filled a ton of needs, brought in two vets for low picks, and got a local boy (Canisius Golden Griffins) late. Once the hockey season starts, my lacrosse jonesing goes into full effect. Can't wait! |

I still wish they'd make a lacrosse video game. I think that would help cater to more casual fans than the industry thinks. |

They tried. EA made an absolutely terrible, really arcadey game in the late 90's for PlayStation. They had a deal with Activision but Activision never delivered anything. Who knows what's going on now. |

/threadcromancy NLL tickets are on sale for the upcoming season. The Bandits have installed brand-new turf, and Darris' number is missing from the floor (he had his number retired onto the floor, not a banner...weird). This, with his brother Richie retiring this summer, smells of banners for both Kilgours |

Melly bought a pair of tickets for us to see the home opener vs the K-Hawks. Soooo excited! Chris White, new Captain since Richie retired, is ranked #20 and Billy Dee Smith is ranked #14 by NLLInsider.com in their Top 50 NLL'ers list. |

Tavares has never worn more than an A, so I think he still doesn't by choice. Tavares, Montour, and Steenhuis still have yet to be listed in the Top 50, so check it out this week to see where they fall. |

Well, I dunno. Monster is just coming into his prime. With Mikey likely on the outs, and Angus the next in line, who knows. |
