great list, but i dont ever want to see bartmans name mentioned with the cubs again. that poor guy has suffered for what any fan would do: reach for a ball near them. throw out the "it was by the field of play" argument, instinct kicks in, and you reach. he wasnt the only one reaching for that ill-fated ball. |

Wasn't that a non-clinching game? Like with Buckner and the Red Sox, it's up to the team to win the next game. |

they were both game 6. so a team COULD clinch. besides, even if buckner fields that ball, cleanly, no one was covering first, mookie wilson was fucking fast, and buckners ankles were beyond fucked up. he was going to be safe regardless. |

Right, I'm agreeing with you, in that it's unfair to pin the blame of either of those on one person. Growing up playing team sports, I firmly believe losses are a team effort. |

i was in a playoff game a few years ago. we held a 3-2 lead. with 2 minutes to go, i made a pad save, but the guy poked the puck from under my pad in the net. tie game. made a few more saves, till a guy streaked in alone with a few seconds to go, and fired a slapshot 5 hole on me. the clock read 0.1... i was devastated. i blamed myself and so did the team. i waited till everyone left to take my equipment off. |

The only game I even remotely blame myself for is a tournament game we were tied 2-2 when I came in with runners on and let in two runs. Not really my fault since we lost 4-2, but I didn't feel good about it. |

i thought the bills would be a bit higher. especially with the fact that the team is run incredibly horridly of recent. and the fact that fans keep paying for mediocrity. |

Quote: Last Truly Devastating Defeat: 1999 Finals, Game 6 (the No Goal Game) 2006 just called. They probably wouldn't have won anyway in 1999. In 2006, that Cup was theirs. |

I fired that in an e-mail off to Simmons. I pretty much told him that unless he's going to watch hockey on a regular basis and not be a bandwagon fan, he should probably stop writing about it, or at least do some research. |

Someone at work today was talking to another person, and I overheard one say "The Sabres lost a game, didn't they" and I flew into a silent rage. NO GOAL and FUCKING DELAY OF GAME ran through my mind, and I started to simmer. Then someone brought up Brian Burke's shenanigans and I calmed down |
