I apologize to our Canadian friends. For one day, and one day only, it's nationalistic shit talking time. Big game here. Winner locks up Group A and one of the byes. Loser has a chance at the 4th spot depending on what Finland does. Their +9 goal differential is tied with Canada for best in the tourney so far. Lots of possibilities. Gonna be a hell of a day!!

I was so happy when I found out my work shift ends two hours before the game starts, I really wanted to watch this game, and so I will... LETS KICK SOME ARSE!

Coverage on MSNBC - pregame at 7 p.m. EST +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ It will be interesting to see how Suisse play today v Norway @ 3 p.m. EST. They were within inches of beating Canada on Thursday. I think the US needs every second of practice they can get. It's hard to imagine they have a chance against the stacked teams like Russia and Slovakia. The US v Canada game will speak volumes in terms of advancement/placement for both teams. I'm hoping I'm home from work just in time for the puck to drop. |

I think it's going to be one hell of a game! Although, I am kind of glad I’ll be missing it  My honest opinion after seeing both teams play so far, USA has a better shot at working together as a team. Canada, when pressured, tends to focus more on the whole, "Me me me me", attitude. That’s where you run into blind passing, coughing up the puck, mental lapses begin, defensive break downs, egos take over and frustration will set in. That's where you'll start to see cheap shots. I love my country and our team (minus Crosby) and all, but I'm calling a spade a spade. If Canada is on the ropes, they'll start mucking up the play where as if it's the US team is in that same position, IMO, I think they are much better at maintaining their composure and focusing on the task at hand. Also, I think this is going to be a low scoring game and won't be surprised to see a 4-3 score for either team. |

I fear we will be slaughtered and outclassed, but am optimistic that we might somehow get a W. Is this the last game before the real deal starts? |
